Feck yeahThis thread again getting bogged down in this same old endless argument. The problem is most people discussing the numbers in this thread are basically have a dick measuring contest to see which code is more popular. The problem is more popular doesn’t mean a bigger TV deal and the inability to understand that leads us to these repeated nonsense discussions.
We also don’t have access to all the same data that the TV networks do and I’m not just talking about ratings. We all like to talk definitely but truth is we don’t have all the information about how these deals are made.
Stop treating the TV deals as a popularity contest and you’ll save us all from these endless garbage discussions.

Looks like the mods are happy to allow Jacko the foul mouthed to post here.
Yes. That’s because you are a dickheadDidn't you just call me a 'dickhead' for simply saying the Swans game was a classic.
I have just read through most of this thread, you make some quality points and provide good balanced insights.
Afl ratings on seven this year have generally been weakI'm not an expert at decoding those numbers, but looks like the AFL had roughly 325k more viewers last year for week 1 of the finals?
The ratings seem to fluctuate drastically depending on the closeness of the games.
Two Sydney teams and not even two big onesThe ratings seem to fluctuate drastically depending on the closeness of the games.
The AFL went down to the wire and they got a good average, the NRL was over after 20 minutes, I switched off and I'm sure plenty of others did too, especially the casual fans.
