That’s afl contra at work. The North Korea propaganda machine could learn a lot from afl hqSo all the bluster about AFL taking over and one of the smaller Sydney NRL teams smashed the Swans...
Swans: 153 + 44k = 197k audience
Sharks: 250 + 19k = 269k audience
Will we get all those articles from Monday rewritten now telling the truth?
"comparable special treatment"not true. Storm received $4.6mill a year over the NRL grant for a number of years.

You should take a peak over at bigfooty for a laugh. They're currently discussing a vast media conspiracy against the AFL in NSW/QLD.
On my local news the fumbleball was way down the list, NRL and NRLW first, the way it should be. Switch over to the ABC however, f-ball in the lead stories. Funny to see Katie Perry having absolutely no idea what she was promoting though. You should take a peak over at bigfooty for a laugh. Those numbers are massive. I know last years game against the panthers was a bit of a blowout but that’s still a huge jump in ratings YoY. This year game still blew out at the end and roosters v storm isn’t exactly a super crowd pleasing matchup.
Is there a breakdown of the cities? Feel Melbourne must have pulled decent numbers.

I guess my thought is that 200K+ would be a big increase in NSW and QLD especially considering this year the Sydney team copped a hiding compared to last year where the Sydney team won easily. I feel a decent chunk of that may have come from Melbourne but it’s hard to know.We arent getting a lot of weekend city breakdowns at the moment. Keep an eye out on mediaspys thread here - https://forums.mediaspy.org/t/friday-27-september-2024/25933/2
Last years Storm/Panthers prelim final only rated 33,000 in Melbourne, so its not got much to beat (and this has rated 200k+ more than last year already)
This will be the highest rating game ever out of AFL NRL, AFL is the true national sportSomeone on BF reckons a Swans/Lions GF would maximize nationwide viewership. On the premise that everyone in VIC/WA/SA will watch irrespective of participants. Whereas casuals in NSW/QLD will only tune in for a local team.
From memory, the ratings for GF 2019 Fumbles wouldn't support the hypothesis. Although, probably a gulf in pulling power between Swans and Giants.
I think all Storm NRL GFs have rated well across the board.
It’s almost like you think Tina Turner was a die hard RL fan.On my local news the fumbleball was way down the list, NRL and NRLW first, the way it should be. Switch over to the ABC however, f-ball in the lead stories. Funny to see Katie Perry having absolutely no idea what she was promoting though.
Gee the fumbleball must be enthralling if you`re posting on here when the game is on.It’s almost like you think Tina Turner was a die hard RL fan.
Tonight I`ll be going to the most popular televised sport in the country, and later tonight I`ll be getting up to watch the semifinals in that other professional Rugby League competition we have on the other side of the world and in the next few weeks I will be enjoying a smorgasbord of International Rugby League, sorry Oh that`s right your season is over after today. This will be the highest rating game ever out of AFL NRL, AFL is the true national sport
