708 live rated sporting events on Foxtel streaming this calendar year
Top rated F1 is the AusGP at #75
top rated supercars is Bathurst at #143
Top cricket fixture comes in at #308
Top BBL fixture at #406
Is this mostly from the finals? Each week the NRL seemed to dominate the foxtel ratings so it’s weird to see the inverse here.

yes, and some big final round ratings, particularly last day of the AFL H&A season.

That’s one thing cricket has done really well, getting people to watch the games during the day. Watching the cricket is kinda like the NFL where you just have a full sport day (and have a BBQ or whatever). Would love to see the NRL achieve something like the NFL do on Sundays.
Every 1st grade game should be played with 2 other games, like a women's game and a juniors game for example, but the format can be flexible as to who plays.

Hard to do with nrl games being shown one after the other most times

They could do it on Saturday and Sunday for one game

Timeslots are largely all taken up by current games

Thurs 805
Friday 6.05 and 8 pm
Sat 2 to 9 (3 games)
Sunday 4 to 6
Sunday 630

It was just an idea about getting people through the gates earlier and trying to make a day of it, but like you say hard to do with the TV time slots.

They are looking at doing it but just not televised

Old school days you had reserve grade and under 21 before the first team

Now they play at different times

Some teams don’t even have a reserve grade side they have a feeder team which isn’t even in their area

Aussies flock to BBL and Test cricket on Seven Third Australia v India Test reaches 5.9 million First four days of BBL 14 reach 4.9 million, best start since 2021 The start of Big Bash League 14 and the Third Test between Australia and India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test Series were a winning combination for Australian sport fans on Seven and 7plus Sport.

BBL 14 on Seven and 7plus Sport is scoring big with viewers, with the strongest start to a BBL competition since 2021 and the second consecutive year of audience growth.

The first four days of BBL 14 reached 4.9 million people, with an average total TV audience of 564,000 – up 16% on the first four days of BBL 13. Broadcast viewing alone was up 9%.

Seven’s live and free coverage of the Third Test at the Gabba reached 5.9 million people and drew an average total TV audience of 647,000. Ending in a draw due to rain delays across the five days, the Third Test was the mostwatched program in all people, 25 to 54s, 16 to 39s and grocery shoppers last Sunday.

The big-rating sessions included the third session on day two, which had an average total TV audience of 1.29 million, and the second session on day two, with 1.03 million. Across the Third Test, 7plus saw a 131% jump in audience compared to the same days last year. The Third Test reached 582,000 people exclusively on 7plus Sport.
