4 teams last year Vegas
Rooster's 3rd top 8
Eagle's Top 8
Broncos Rabbitohs failed big time

Only had one Vegas round so far. A look at their form in the first 5 rounds is another perspective:

- Broncos 2/5 wins (Played four top 8 sides and both grand finalists)
- Roosters 2/5 wins (Played three top 8 sides)
- Manly 3/5 wins (Played three top 8 sides)
- Rabbitohs 1/5 wins (Played three top 8 sides)

The Roosters were one of the biggest fails actually. After Vegas they didn't have to leave Sydney for their games and their three losses came against teams that made the 8.

The WCC as an 'add-on' fixture is a bridge too far and I'm not liking the fact its been passed around like the village bicycle. If we haven't got it sorted by now then cancel it for 2025 and plan it thoughtfully in 2026.

This has been made more difficult than it needs to be. It is really simple. Align the seasons and Grand Finals for both competitions. Two weeks after the season ends play the WCC final. this gives teams a week to celebrate and travel and acclimatise. Play the game in Asia and meet halfway. Hong Kong has a rugby stadium. Singapore has a soccer stadium that could be used. Thailand has a soccer stadium. Make it a promotional event for Rugby League., there are plenty of expats from both countries in Asia who would go and watch, as well as travelling fans from both sides.

Throwing in the USA round one game just makes it very draining for the team that has to travel twice to play games at the start of the season. Two lots of jet lag, two lots of climate adjustment. It is dumb to inflict that work load on players.
Awful idea. International rugby league is far more important

Wigan CEO did a radio interview and is pretty hot on making the WCC happen and seemed pretty positive on exploring magic round as an option, Ivan is not though.

Then you are saying we should of pulled out of Las Vegas? I'd put some of it on the NRL as well as they wanted Vegas teams finalised weeks ago.

Playing another WCC on top of Vegas in 2025 would be an absolute killer. The length of the season is already a problem for all teams and for us it’s going to be an even bigger issue.

Pretty short sighted by us and the NRL that the WCC wasn’t discussed, or there wasn’t a Plan B, prior to locking in LV - where we have no issue flying the team across the world for a few extra bucks.

It's the Vegas thing that makes it harder. They have to establish who's playing many months in advance to give people time to clear their schedule. When a lot of friends with families want to go somewhere you have to plan something months in advance so the teams at Vegas are known long before who's suppose to play in the WWC.

There's no excuse for the internationals though.

What a mess. Panthers could become an international brand for rugby league
Fantastic panthers vs the great Wigan warriors
This needs to happen
Ok get Storm vs Hull

Yes . No one can predict the winner of the NRL
Where WCC involved. And Vegas
So pick a 5th stand by team for Vegas

And kick out which NRL team? That isn't going to happen.

And if we are to play the WCC in Vegas separately to our round 1 game then its a terrible decision. We'd be spending another week in Vegas to prepare. That would have a massive impact on the rest of 2025.

The club wants to prioritise another premiership which will be the toughest one we've had in the entire run. Its not in our interests to play an extra game overseas in 2025.
Have another NRL team replace us to play the sharks. Play Wigan and give us the round 1 bye. Have another team from SL replace Wigan to play whoever the f**k they are playing. f**king simple. We play the WCC in Vegas and the NRL/SL get a showcase event. I mean it’s not rocket science. But to this NRL administration it would probably be as difficult as writing a thesis on the ways that friction ratios affect steering outcomes in aeronautical use under reduced gravity loads.

Gives you an idea about how the NRL view the event. Plenty of fans agree it's an exhibition match and it's not hard to see why.

Won't happen at this stage. Would mean booking out another day at that stadium.

We need to start the season a week earlier to accomodate the game. And the international season continues the following week after the WCC, WCC players who are picked join their international squad after the WCC.

We are in week two after the GF now and no full cap international football has been played.

Wigan comes to Australia
Play WCC at magic round
Halfway through the season
That's the best scenario for Panthers

Hate it.

Pointless game that is just another source of injuries.

We are shooting for 5 in a row here!

No offence, but players can get injured at any time. Heck how many times have big name players gotten injured during training? Plenty.

For example, I know one player at the Roosters, many years ago now, who was told at training on a Tuesday he'd be making his first grade debut that weekend. Less than an hour later, he stepped in a hole in the training field, broke his leg, and was ruled out for the season.

Origin should have ruined our last few seasons with injuries. We don't need even more games

This is true, but a glorified trial just adds to the risk. Taylan May missed the entire 2023 season off the back of a WCC injury. Karma? Yes, but the point still stands.

Injuries through normal activities suck, but they are part of the game, no need to up the degree of likelihood unnecessarily.
