Do you think the RFL will repeat this strategy going forward for the New Zealand test series and the next ashes series?
No doubt about it. It’s created a bit of hype and rush to not miss out. Pre sales approach was genius!

the home test series wins against Tonga and Samoa have got us to this point. It’s been a nice build over three years.

its already got the same feel as the 90’s test period and that was the pinnacle of int RL imo.
if by a miracle England manage to win a kiwis tour next year will sell very well.

Just done a quick seat count and there’s less than 2000 seats left at Everton in the pre sale! Not sure if there’s sections they haven’t opened up in pre sale. If not then it’s pretty close to selling out.
If they haven’t then surely the RFL would now open everything up for pre-sale.

theyd be mad not to and to deny themselves the great opportunity to push the 2 sold out venues buzz and media hype.

Tbf I don’t think anyone expected this level of sales! To sell out two games for test matches in pre sale is unprecedented. Amazing when one of them is a 53k stadium!
Is Everton capacity confirmed as 53k for this test match?

Surely you would have to go with Everton again for the kiwis series and most probably as the venue for the 2nd test.

start of in London again for the 1st test at maybe Wembley or Tottenham and finish off in Sheffield or elland rd for the 3rd test.

That is its official capacity.
I don’t think the RFL will ever use anfield again when we’ve got a much better option at Everton.

everton could even replace Manchester for all tests against the Aussies and New Zealand for the foreseeable future until something is done with Old Trafford.

No chance, wembley will be used. kiwis are nowhere near the draw of a first in a generation ashes series.

stadiums around 30-35k will be best suited to a kiwis tour. If Everton is a hit it could possibly host a game.

last tour in 2018 drew
17k hull
26k anfield
32k elland road

its a shame Leeds utd can’t get successful and build a new 40k stadium to replace elland road!

Im not so sure mate.

im sure they’ll be huge positive impact about the venue and location of the stadium in Liverpool for RL fans to the point that they’ll want to to it all again in 2027.

same with London for the 1st test but maybe not Wembley.

It’d be hugely ambitious! If going to be that ambitious I’d go game 1 Tottenham stadium, game 2 Everton (if it works, if not Newcastle) game 3 hull.

So, 21000 for Headingly and 52000 for Everton.

If Wembley could snag over 50000, that'd be a 40000 aggregate across the three games, which is just stunning really.

They honestly should cross promote a fans tour of the World Cup during the series. Get a large English touring group into Australia.

f**k the poms and I hope you never beat Australia again, but if you happen to beat us in this series, you'd like to think a heap will come over for a World Cup, and you'd fancy your chances too.

That would require NRl to get its sht together and get the RLWC details out this year. Hopefully they've seen the benefit for this series of getting venues and tickets out well in advance.,

Absolutely. This is the crux of my gripe with the NRL and it's 'promotion' of the international game. It's last minute priority (Pacific Championships last year and year before being poorly organized) and their interest in 'growing' other nations appears only to be at a top tier level. New play things to play with.

In saying that, there's nothing preventing the RFL from partnering with an air line, hotel chain, or travel agent to get tour packages organized.

Down to the last 3 or 4 rows in the corners at Everton. Less than a 1000 seats left on presale.
some people on twitter and totalRL are saying that the RFL haven’t put all tickets on sale at both headingley and Everton in order to keep some for when they go on general sale which I find hard to believe even for the RFL.

If tens of thousands of people pre-registered why would the RFL potentially block any sales and harm their profits?

and as for any potential redevelopment of elland rd I think it should be 50k capacity.

Interesting that the test match at elland rd was the largest crowd of the series which shows to me that both the kiwis are a draw for the English fans and that elland rd can still attract a big crowd.

I would honestly stick with Everton for the kiwis test series as game 2 after kickoff in London for game 1 at probably Tottenham or arsenal and finish the series in Leeds at elland rd or depending on availability Sheffield bramall lane for game 3.

gone are the days of playing the kiwis and Australia at Wigan or Huddersfield etc.
