2025 Ashes Tour

Just saw an interesting stat. With the last game between these two nations being 8 years ago, not 1 player in the Kangaroos squad has ever played against England. Not even Munster.
A crazy stat but a sign of the times. A sad sign.

Good squad. Having Cleary, Strange and Walsh in the same backline would be interesting.

Hope England can be competitive. With the state of the ESL and the strength of the NRL it’s hard to imagine them gaining ground in years to come.

It's pretty incredible the depth of the Australian team. Despite all these players now choosing to play for their heritage nations, Australia are still producing squads like this and it's just class above anyone else.

If anything, New Zealand are hurt more by these defections more than anyone. If it wasn't happening, NZ would be back to neck and neck with Australia like there were 10ish years ago.

Australia has always produced a lot of great white players, NZ not so much. We rely more on our maori and pasifika boys (sans Tonga now 😔)

I don't remember Lomax getting injured? He's had about a month off for any little niggles.

It’s always bewildered me. The NSWRL/NRL has always had a smattering of Kiwis, PNG and Fijian players within it’s ranks..And yet England is bordered by Wales, Scotland and Ireland there’s never been a strong history of 5-6 players each from those 3 countries that never really tried to make a name for themselves? (Tbf there was a small group of actual Welsh players)

I understand rewarding the Origin players.

But Matt Burton is extremely unlucky here. If he can't crack this squad will he ever play rep football again?

reading lots of chatter on social media of “brisk sales” and certain blocks either being close to selling out or sold out and new sections being opened up for general sale etc but until I see the RFL announce that 50k tickets have been sold I won’t believe it as I’ve heard it all before.

we seem to have been stuck on 40k-45k sold for weeks.
