14k at the sharks raises a few questions. firstly, how? secondly, where? and the third...is this safe?
I do not think Shark park is as big as they make out it is. Comparing Kogarah and Brookvale to Shark park there grandstands and seating and hill area is twice the size off Shark park.

2024 Rnd 3 145,202 Ave 18,150
2024 After 3 rounds (23 Events) 483,902 ave 21,039

Ave 2025 v 2024 down 8.7%
What do we reckon phins and bunnies would have got if it wasn’t moved? That game alone would go some way to covering the difference.
In any case a dip in crowds this year isn’t a disaster, we just need to stay above trend lines

The Dolphins v Rabbitohs game was reported as being on track for a 20K+ crowd before Alfred popped up, so it was a pretty significant hit.

There's a few factors that are going to make it slightly more difficult to repeat last year's crowd averages. First is Penrith playing away from home, second is some of last year's bigger crowd drawing teams, Cowboys, Eels, Dolphins & Roosters, haven't had a great start.

On the flip, Cronulla has a bit more capacity, Bulldogs are off to a strong start, Tigers & Titans have potential to enjoy solid uplifts.

Friday night could be washed out too, possibly up to 70mm forecast! If the Phins like it soo wet maybe they should return to the ocean!

Friday's Roosters Titans game does not seem to be selling well. Will do well to do over 12k.

This is the first of 3 tough sells the roosters have on the schedule at the SFS with them being

Titans Friday 6PM
Raiders Sunday 6:15PM
Storm Thursday Night

One might consider cowboys Sunday arvo as well but that is going to be the emergency services game

In the case of this week, it doesn't look like the weather is going to help whatsoever.

Interesting that this post should be followed by others saying the concourse is de facto a "safe standing" area for those who purchase cheaper seats. Following on from the theme of new stadia providing higher percentages of premium vantage points.

I suppose the moral is different strokes for different folks.

How does NRL compare with AFL in terms of choice and affordability?
For MCG ..Adult general admission...$27
Concess....$18
Under14...$5.

Will be lucky to pull 30k if it’s as wet as they are forecasting

If we get the rain predicted I don't see 44k showing up.

Possibly - some forecasters have reduced the amount expected from 40-80mm to 10-20mm, but we'll have to wait and see just what the weather is looking like on the day.

Ticket sales have slowed, but they haven't stopped - and you'd expect most of these people buying are well aware of the weather.
