I am extremely optimistic about the MCG idea. It’s novelty which Victorians will get around simply because it’s a unique event. If it’s pushed the right way, I see it being a huge success.

If the timing is right on game day between MCG game finishing and Storm game starting we get a fair few AFL supporters coming to watch Storm. I know a fair few afl supporters who follow Storm now but never followed Rugby League before.

Optus in Perth appears to be over the 30k mark at this stage, actually not bad considering I haven't seen any promotion of the games at all, plus the kick off time etc.
1pm on a Saturday, right in the middle of Junior sport plus the West Coast Eagles will be playing at the time at "Gather Round". Always good for a bit of walk ups over here so hopefully can push 40k.

Given the Bad News Bears story, anything over 35K is probably a win

McDonald Jones Stadium has under 1,500 tickets left for Sunday's game against the Wests Tigers. I imagine they'll put up the sold out sign before kick off.

Given the Bad News Bears story, anything over 35K is probably a win

Really anything over around 27K is an improvement on what those fixtures would have got in Sydney. Shark Park may have gone close to sell out of 15K, whilst Rabbitohs would have been lucky to draw much more than 12K at Accor for Cowboys.

It was reported the match was on track for 30K+ yesterday, looking at ticket sales there has been some solid movement behind the posts in the past 24hrs. Hopefully it continues and there's a walkup.

Yeap. Really wish their stadium was finally finished and could hold 40K. The club deserves it & would provide a significant boost to the crowd averages.

I'd argue Warriors would have the most potential upside. There are over 90,000 people in Melbourne who are NZ born and even more have a connection (either as second generation, etc) who could be lured out to an event at the right time and price.

There's a lot of Victorian sports fans who have the Storm as a second team. So long as the MCG clash doesn't go head to head with say one of the big Melbourne AFL clubs in Gather Round, there's a good opportunity to draw them out.

Aligning kick off time when one of the games at Norwood Oval or Barossa Oval is on is the best bet (so either 3pm or 5:30pm on Saturday or 2pm or 4pm on Sunday).

Yeh Victorians love their G and I could see it drawing a record crowd for the Storm with the novelty factor. Early enough in the season the ones there for the novelty might be tempted to try a game or 2 at AAMI afterwards hopefully.

Dogs souths still shifting a decent number of tickets

600s hasn’t sold too much but eastern 400s only has 411 with a lot of seats left having shifted a lot in 410

Wonder what marketing the dogs have for next week

They should do some specials in the last few days like 20 bucks for the 600s.

It should get to 50k. 60k will need a decent push next week and some hype in the media but unlikely as it looks now

600s had every second row on sale (i.e. rows 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9). Those sold well, so this is a second release for rows 2, 4, 6 and 8. Well timed in the leadup to the weekend. Depending how many move over the weekend, they might keep the rest of the 600s for walkups from the Easter Show.

Interesting that they don't have bays 601-603 on sale. Based on earlier discussions here about where there's enough seats in bays 401-405 with reciprocal seating for Rabbitohs members, I'm actually wondering if they're going to hold onto bays 601-603 for more South Sydney members?

TfNSW has updated its guidance for getting to the NRL Good Friday Game at Accor Stadium. Seems they are now planning to coordinate transport services to accommodate a (revised up) figure of 50,000 for the game.

I can see them making row 10 and beyond GA, especially as the current allocation on Level 1 is exhausted (excluding Alcohol Free and the Souths GA area). But it all depends on those tarps on Level 6 East, surely now Venues Live and the Bulldogs have abandoned putting them up over the seats for next week. In a related note, does anyone know how the Accor Stadium members reserve is doing? Will be interesting to see if they activate overflow seating on Level 6 West

From a members email I received today:

Rabbitohs Ticketed Members will have access to this game with their 2025 Membership card or Flexi Tickets. Reserved Seat and Flexi Ticketed Members can scan their card or Flexi Tickets at Gate C and have access to seating on Level 4 East. If we exceed the Level 4 allocation, members will be directed to Level 6, to Bays 601 and 602 to keep all Rabbitohs members and fans in a consistent area within the stadium. General Admission and Burrow Ticketed Members can scan their cards at Gate B and have access to seating in the Rabbitohs Away Bays in Aisles 101 and 146.
