Warriors would be selling more tickets this year as the Southern stand has gone from GA to ticketed seating. When they do get their first sellout it’ll be interesting to see how many more it is compared to last year’s numbers.

Auckland FC’s sellout Vs Wellington was 27k, hopefully Warriors can get similar numbers for a full sellout.

Not negative, just realistic. League in NZ seemed on the verge of a pivotal breakthrough in the early-mid 90s. Then it mostly fell away, not only due to the SL war. NZRU had the means to fight back. Plenty of evidence they still do.

Two 20k+ crowds are solid. But there were claims on last year's crowd thread that demand for Warriors tickets comfortably exceeds supply. That doesn't appear to be the case.
Last year we were 2nd for crowd average year before 4th. I believe it is realistic we would do well with a 30k seater stadium. If it’s good enough for parra and storm

That`s the thing with a better stadium. As the stadium is now, or any stadium for that matter, there will be a certain percentage of seats that are harder to sell every week, even a new stadium will have that problem, but a bigger better new stadium will have a larger number of better viewing seats that will be easier to sell and hence the average will go up.

*Penrith v Roosters (it was a Penrith home game)

As discussed in this thread at length last week:
- hot day (mid 30s during the day, 30 at 8pm kickoff)
- Penrith playing first home game at Parramatta, 35km from their usual ground
- Major train delays all day and into the night prevented travel for many
I live 125 k from Melbourne and I wouldn't missa home game 36 deg for Storm first game against eels

Couldn’t agree more

Wait until the number gets posted from next week v the Cows.

6pm Friday is very poor scheduling

What you need to understand is that as a die hard - like most fans on here - you're the exception, not the rule.

it's great to have fans committed to the cause like you but not everybody can or will do that, and many don't have the passion or ability to.

The key to good crowds is giving the fringe fans a good reason to turn up. If you schedule poorly, or a team is losing a lot, or anything else that could turn people away, then you lose that fringe and your numbers drop.

Our fan base is younger than most, That either relies on teenagers being allowed to travel on public transport alone or parents being free to take them. Depending on work schedules and that makes some games not possible to attend

My post wasn't about any particularly club, it's about attendance culture generally. NRL clubs have done really well to build core support and grow it over time but the fringe fans are what will decide a crowd. That's my point.

There are different demographics across each club. That was my point

All GA sold out for Commbank.
This crowd will be over 25K if Parramatta season ticket holders all turn up... might push 27K.
The biggest plus of the Bulldogs being competitive is they help lift other Sydney crowds. Looking ahead, already next week's Sharks v Bulldogs game is down to GA only & the Knights and Rabbitohs games are already enjoying pre-sales this far out.

20k average is better then like 95% of sports league around the world
18th out of top 22 comp. avg‘s in world in 2023/2024.
22nd is baseball in korea so I’m guessing youre into some pretty minor prof comps once you get outside the top 30 or so.
