2025 Crowd Watch

The Canberra media is actively shaming any members/corporates that have a ticket and aren't planning on going, haha credit where credit is due - I love to see this, and might email the Broncos, because it is a problem for us.

Apparently they've emailed members with the steps to download and share the tickets if they don't plan on attending (in addition to posting on their platforms), and Canberra times etc are running their shame pieces like the below.

It's a sellout! ........, but Raiders make plea to avoid red faces

Classic.

General admission will keep it from passing the last sell out, unless they've released a shit load of standing room tickets to account for that.

The Roosters used to have a program that if you weren't going to use your season ticket for a particular game, you could "sell it back" to the club who would then sell it to the general public for that game.

I think Manly do this now too. I've found out that the Broncos can redistribute tickets to friends etc if they can't go, just seems like most are too lazy to arrange it if they can't

Good night to watch a movie ..

Rather than 71000 blue seats
lol you’re gonna let an empty stadium determine if you watch footy or not? Apart from the Canberra game it looks like it’ll be a pretty dull week for crowds, the Cowboys game may reach 20k+ but that’s about it

And let’s face it even if souffs were in good form the crowd probably barely scrapes past 16k anyway

There can also be a "stick" approach. For ANZAC Day this year, your usual Roosters season ticket card would not admit you to the game. At no additional cost, you had to "reserve/claim" your seat via the Ticketek website by a set date. Ticketek would then send you an e-ticket a couple of weeks before the game.

If you didn't claim your seat via Ticketek by the due date, the club would reclaim your seat (without any recompense to you) and then make it available for general sale.

I hope they were only charged for 11 home games in the season ticket then

Nope. We paid full freight for 'em. I almost didn't go to the game as I claimed my seats, but thought of not going out of protest.

Considering this aspect was advertised when we bought season tickets it may well be legal, but to me, it certainly wasn't ethical.

The year before Anzac Day was left out of the Dragons usual packages, (from memory) we had to take it as a separate option.

I wonder if the big growth in crowds is down to women being more interested due to WNRL. It’s no doubt multiple things but that’s likely one of them.

I swear this is the main cause. When I used to go to Broncos games 10-15 years ago, it would be a 90/10 split. It seems like Suncorp has close to a 50/50 split these days.
