I love the positivity but 40k crowd average is no chance

Good to see they are talking about bulldogs eels getting 60k though

If they do crack 30k for the season it will be amazing.

I remember when Sydney clubs got 5k in the 80s with maybe the one good match of the ground getting 10k if we were lucky

Greenberg did a good job running them. Castle turned them into a basketcase now Gus has taken them to a new level
Castle did a real number on them. Not only did she allow the club to get into the salary cap mess they did, but systematically undid a lot of the work Greenberg did building the clubs membership numbers & attendances at Accor.

Thankfully the club went back to the basics will Andrew Hill & now Aaron Warburton. The Gus factor helps as well, he gives the club another voice to spin the narrative.

Whilst 40K is a huge target, love that the club is actually actively pushing it as a goal. Even if they 'fail' and only ever get to mid-30s, it dramatically changes crowd expectations in Sydney and suddenly makes Accor a more enjoyable venue to attend.

Yeh I suspect mid 30s is achievable based on the crowds stated in that article which seem achievable

I like how they said dogs warriors might get 50k too

Hope the warriors form stays good in the meantime

Dolphins have just opened up Bays 526 - 531 on the Caxton St side of the ground. Every bay in the lower bowl is now down to single seats. Same with Bays 512 - 514 on the Milton Rd side, with 509 - 510 & 515 - 517 having very little left.

At Accor, Bays 405 and 407 are now selling into the back rows. Hopefully we'll see some more Gold seats released by tomorrow morning.

Raiders v Titans is unfortunately showing very little signs off life. A shame after the strong crowds for Dolphins and Bulldogs, though often what happens when there are a number of games in a short period of time.

Warriors v Raiders, on Sunday May 25, is already sold out. Grandstand seating for the Panthers Round 12 game at Bathurst looks to be sold out, although it's hard to tell considering they're using a very similar grey for sold out and silver seating.

seems like it took a few years of being shit for crowds to roar back when they got ok
I guess Parra is currently trying this strategy so expect big crowds for the Eels in 2028

That’s a great article on Canterbury crowds. If they keep up this form and positivity about the club, 30,000+ is definitely on lock as an average crowd figure. It should also induce other Sydney clubs to look at ways to mobilise their fan bases on game days.

TfNSW will tomorrow release its guidance for game day transport options for the King’s Birthday game at Accor Stadium. Three weeks out from the comparable Good Friday game, TfNSW was planning for a crowd of approximately 45,000 which was ultimately 65,305 due to hype and excellent marketing. It will be interesting to see what figure TfNSW starts with tomorrow.

Does anyone know why Rugby League Tables is no longer recording NRL crowds?

This database was always very handy, and the older-style format so easy to use. I understand this was an offshoot from an ozzie rules site so perhaps they don't have the resources to continually provide updates.
Because everyone picked on the guy when he posted on lu?
What’s his name? Fozziebear or something?

Souths at Allianz could crack a 30k crowd average too

The other Sydney clubs should target 20k crowd average by having a few event games at the big stadia

Yep I see Souths at Allianz, roosters and bulldogs consistently aiming for averages of 30k in the next 5 years. The rest to move 1-2 big games and derbies to one of the bigger stadia. I can also see Melbourne getting more and more sellouts and they too moving a couple bigger games to bigger venues.

if we can upgrade Canberra stadium as well I think the nrl could get to a 25k average crowd without too much of a sweat in the next 5 years.

Yeh good point about the storm

The death of the rebels have given them a nice bump in crowds

Shame the mcg wouldn’t allow them to take a game there during the afl magic round in Adelaide

That could’ve been a 40k crowd with ticket incentives

This assertion is baffling - the Storm to my knowledge never asked for this and thus were never knocked back. Have you just made this up?

There were reports about a month ago they're keen on the idea for future years. Nothing that they tried and were not allowed this year.

Warriors playing a game or 2 at Eden Park, Anzac Day is an obvious one.

Have the Storm locked in the MCG for next season? It's just that I've heard they maybe going to play a game there while the AFL were out of town for Magic round which they copied from us. 😆

This has literally been discussed a few posts before you asked this question
