Not the game to take there

South’s roosters or tigers

Carlton station means not that hard for knights fans to go to kogarah v Allianz

Dragons shouldn’t give up kogarah completely they would become a plastic side if they did

The ideal scenario is Illawarra would’ve had their own side and either dragons take over sharks or dragons stand alone plays half the games at kogarah and the rest at Allianz

It’s no confidence’s the two jv have been such a rabble

Manly and souths show t

So your proposing another merger to fix the merger rabble

Normally I would agree with you but when you look at the Dragons previous crowds over the last two years at Kogarah, there's clearly a theme.

2024:

Dragons vs Cowboys - 9,252
Dragons vs Rabbitohs - 7,517
Dragons vs Dolphins - 8,052
Dragons vs Raiders - 11, 189
Dragons vs Bulldogs - 18,416 (Finally a sellout)

2025:

Dragons vs Bulldogs - 16,211 (This was meant to be a sellout)
Dragons vs Storm - 6,211
Dragons vs Knights - 10, 411

Outside of the two Bulldogs games, the Dragons have been attracting terrible crowds to their games at Kogarah. I really hope they can start turning it around because they are meant to be one of our bigger clubs, but they clearly don't care about attracting high attendances.
Wasn't St.George Dragons crowds crap after the facelift of Kogarah back in the late 1980's.

That was a newspaper story back in 2000 that St.Steelers should merge as a super club with the Sharks.

Dogs eye full house for Eels blockbuster
The Bulldogs have high hopes for their Kings Birthday crowd against Parramatta – they want to fill Accor Stadium. The club is releasing $10 tickets, like they did for their Good Friday match against South Sydney, which will be available from 4pm on Sunday.

The attendance is already tracking to beat Good Friday’s, so the Dogs are a chance of setting another attendance record for a regular-season game.

Quite a good concept really. I’m not sure how it would have facilitated bigger crowds but having a club with over 760 junior teams in a growing area isn’t illogical. Might have been an argument for building a 30000 stadium in the Gong and playing the odd game at Shark Park which the club would still hold as an asset …….

Interesting.

They're going to have to do some genius marketing to sell out Accor. A Parramatta win against Penrith this afternoon + the hyping of the Galvin signing by Canterbury instead of Parramatta would be needed to come close to selling out Accor IMO.

At the moment, there's plenty of seats available in Bays 403-411. The move to turn GA South into allocated seating shows there's still plenty of seats left in the southern bowl as well.

The $10 tickets will presumably be made available in the wings of Level 6 East and West from 4:00pm this afternoon.

Just at the sprint platform, and there is plenty of Wahs fans as Souths country says. I think this might crack 16 hopefully with Wahs fans loving a walk up. We haven’t played much in Sydney this year let alone at a good time so there is plenty of interest with the Sydney based Wahs fan and dribbler

I got excited arriving here thinking we've got a massive crowd on... until I realised the Monster Trucks event on in the precinct at the same time.

Anyway, love the day games. We don't get many at home anymore. Seems a few more than normal 30mins out from kickoff...

W, you are ignoring the fact that Illawarra couldn’t stand alone, they were broke.
They couldn’t even fund a seperate Reserves and U20s team past the first year of the JV and could not contribute their half of the agreed funding arrangement going forward.
Hence after St G financially carrying their burden plus extending them a $6mill loan (at less than market rates) they eventually sold out to WIN.

They were not viable to standalone and unless someone bought them out or paid their bills for them couldn’t survive.

I swear there were more there than 16k in round 1. Yes I was there for both games v the Dogs and I think there were very similar numbers there at both.
Of course that is just anecdotal, I can’t prove it.

There was talk of a Gate B (C?) turnstile breakdown, which could account for another 2,000 maybe. But again nothing official came out about it.

Anyway it doesn’t help.

(There was a turnstile malfunction at a game a few years ago as well. So it’s possible. )
