2025 Crowd Watch

As of 1:30pm PAX = 49,575

Crowd Projection = PAX / PAX Factor
Crown Projection = 49,575 / 0.7253

= 68,351

Probably the most accurate projection based off PAX. As today was the equivalent day last year.

On a sidenote - if anyone wants 3xfree $10 tickets, send me through a DM.

Edit - Tickets have been claimed

Incred. On track for another record.

Sydney often gets sledged nationwide for its crowds, or lack thereof, but as soon as a Sydneysider gets a whiff of an ‘event,’ it gets a life of its own.

No other city in the country is capable of these types of crowds for an NRL game.

What is impressive is that many people being prepared to go to such a Shyte ground. If they fixed it up who knows what crowds they would get.

Yep agreed, well done. I hope we continue to make progress with stadiums in Sydney as there is so much potential for crowd growth.

A proper rectangular Accor and Souths & Dragons (Sydney games) to Allianz would be a huge step forward.

Luai vs Penrith should have been a promoters dream

unfortunately both teams shit form (tigers to be expected) has put a fizzle on that. Still think it’ll be 20k+

Confident Doggies v eels can reach 70k, crazy to think that even with the eels doing so poorly

Knights going shit probably doesn’t help but for a Thursday night which was probably the coldest of the year so far that’s not too bad really.

Also this is a totally random aside but Newcastles pathetic public transport system may one day have more impact on things like this. The population of the hunter is growing rapidly but instead of slowly turning into a big city we’re just becoming a sprawling suburban nightmare without adequate public transport to support such growth.

Theres a plan to redevelop Broadmeadow which will include extending the light rail to the stadium. No idea when this will ever happen though.

Imagine if we could create our own Caxton street next to the stadium and upgrade the Stadium. We would put on one heck of a Magic Round.

For sure. Newcastle needs a light rail system, traffic is turning into a nightmare at certain times of day. Other pinch points like the JHH are crying out for public transport (and the current bus service that is at the whims of traffickers c barely counts). Shame as that big bypass going up to the new JHH was the perfect chance to put this in place but our government isn’t great at future planning.

Is it possible we could get a capacity stadium on Monday or is that just crazy thinking?

All us neutral fans in Sydney should be getting out there and trying to make it happen. No excuses with the cheap tickets.

18k more to be sold over 3 days unlikely

70k though should be on the cards

Finals games don’t get that (odd prelim aside)

Come to think of it if dogs stay top two if they get a prelim at Accor that would sell out. Nrl would love that

I bought tickets one day before Good Friday and the pax was 56000 so easily beating that however the 6-8K Souths Members who showed up obviously didn't count. Still think this game is easily in front.
We still have Accor Stadium members to add to the mix, so allocated seats is possibly closer to 60K than the PAX is indicating.

It's not impossible, though I think it's unlikely. There's possibly close to 20K worth of seats still in play at the moment and a large portion of them are in the less desirable parts of the stadium. 70K+ is definitely on the cards though.

They do, when the big Sydney teams qualify for the Finals. We had 74,549 for Bulldogs v Eels in 2009, 71,212 for Dragons v Wests Tigers in 2010 and 70,354 for Bulldogs v Rabbitohs in 2012 all for Preliminary Finals.

Hard to get a gauge on AAMI tonight. Lots of people still coming in late. Hopefully 15k+ but who knows. Lots of green gaps
