So they sold out the game against the same opponent a few weeks ago but this game (which is much more important) will struggle to get 20k?

Melbourne is a weird place.
Happens with a lot of teams .. as soon as the nrl takes over the fixture and season ticket holders are all made to actually login and pay for tickets you just get like 3000 people who can't be arsed

Could be one of the biggest week 2’s ever if the broncos lose.
Biggest in the NRL era is just under 80k. That gets blown away if Dogs & Broncos are hosting. Could even give it a nudge if it's Dogs & Raiders.

Aside: Looking back at pre-NRL crowds when we used to play all 6 finals at the SFS, there are some impressive sets of numbers. eg 1994: 34k, 35k, 36k ,42k, 42k, 42k.

Doggies v Penrith will be minimum 60k imo
60k+ would've been on the cards had the Warriors won. Warriors fans would've definitely turned up in large numbers.

Don't mean to disappoint people with high expectations, but Bulldogs vs Panthers will be lucky to crack 45k (which is approx. equivalent to the entire lower bowl at Accor Stadium). Anything more than 45k - especially for a week 2 final - would be a bonus, as Penrith isn't one of the larger-drawing Sydney teams.

Another factor is when will the match be held. A sunny Sunday arvo gets a bigger crowd than Saturday night.

Agreed... Dogs are in a hole and with players out some of the bandwagon might get off early!
We will be lucky if Penrith bring 10K supporters.
