2025 Crowd Watch

The upgrade would be great. But if Broncos ever max out I would hope that flows onto more supporters for the Dolphins or at a stretch the Titans. Does this happen in AFL (eg West Coast, Adelaide?)
from what I know I think there is a bit of that for Freemantle in WA since west coast had oversold the old stadium at least

Moreso related to the 2026 crowd watch thread however the Broncos have nearly sold out level 3 and 5 for 2026 full season ticketed memberships. I expect 3-4k sold since Sunday, and there is good movement in level 6.

Suncorp is well and truly undersized now because Broncos ticketed memberships are becoming an investment, or a timeshare.
Could an area outside the stadium be utilised to screen the game for a Bronx Nation tailgate party zone? Sell memberships for this new game day experience that puts you on a priority list to be offered seated membership opportunities as they arise.... Take up your tailgate membership from when you're 18-30 then upgrade :D

Redcliffe is just too limiting financially. Such a small area and one that doesn't sing to the rest of Brisbane where they will draw there supporters from.
Ok mate, doesn't seem to stop Canterbury having fans city wide and drawing 60k crowds. Club name has been Redcliffe since the 1940s and everyone in Brisbane knows the Dolphins are from Redcliffe dispite the name missing from the NRL team name.

Doesn't stop members jumping on board from anywhere in Brisbane, I'm from Logan and have never lived on the Northside let alone Redcliffe and I'm happy to be part of the club. I'm one of many in that boat.

If it's good enough for NSW clubs to keep their traditional name, its good enough for our clubs too.

Which is why Moreton Bay works better. I'm in Brisbane myself these days. But comparing the Bulldogs to Redcliffe is very funny. Even the club doesn't want to call itself anything. And that's cause I feel they have done the work and found out that Redcliffe is limiting otherwise they would have gone with that from the start.

At some point they will need to make a decision.

It’s always been up for debate but Terry Reader was quoted in some article about it being to do with the QRL refusing to allow “Redcliffe Dolphins” to play in the QCup if they used that name for the NRL team.

that may all change and we may get an NRL team rebrand in 2027/28 if the rumoured entry of the Broncos, Cowboys and Titans into the QCup eventuates

Incorrect, the QRL stopped Redcliffe from using the geographical name. Redcliffe Dolphins is a traditional and famous RL brand in Brisbane, even if people from Sydney don't get that.

It's true the NRL club wants to appeal to the whole city, makes sense, but the name Redcliffe does nothing to change that, just as it has little effect on Fremantle, Canterbury, Parramatta, Tottenham, West Ham, Crystal Palace or Everton.

Like I said, the club's name is Redcliffe and if it's good enough for NSW clubs to use traditional names, it's good enough for QLD clubs.

Completely agree.

I kind of hope they take the Redcliffe name back in 2027/28 and fully integrate the histories like Port Adelaide has done

100%. It's a suburb of around 10,000 people on the edge of Brisbane. The team needs to represent something bigger. If you have to have the name Redcliffe, make it something like Moreton Bay-Redcliffe Dolphins at minimum.

I assume you advocate for all clubs in all sports that carry a suburban, but traditional name to abandon their roots too because the original suburb they represented is too small for you?

Newsflash, they already abandoned it to get into the NRL. There are only two NRL teams in Brisbane, and unless you want the Dolphins to get completely swallowed up, they need to appeal to more than just Redcliffe hence why they are currently just 'The Dolphins.'

Calling themselves just the Dolphins feels to me like they want to leave the door open for a change to Redcliffe Dolphins in the future. If they had become the Brisbane/Moreton Bay/South Queensland Dolphins (or anything else) out the gate it would probably never happen.

No, Dolphins didn't abandon it, the QRL blocked use of the name. Now... answer the question

I think it's only a matter of time before they revert to Redcliffe.

That's what everyone has been calling them from day 1 anyway. Even their own fans would prefer it.
