Have they jacked up the prices for tickets for Go Media Stadium ?

Looking at ticketek it's $85 gold, $65 silver, $30 bronze.

How does this compare to warroirs games ?

I find it strange the warroirs sell out every game but the national team can only half fill the stadium.

Just goes to show how far international footy still has to go to win over the fans .
The prices aren't too dissimilar if you exclude the different offers the Warriors run over the year (ie. We win, you win early bird deal and family promotions).

The biggest difference is the Warriors are setup as an organisation to commercialise 11 games a year, they have full time staff focused on marketing, corporate hospitality, ticketing, social engagement, PR etc. The NZRL is not setup that way, they are more focused on development and participation growth, so at best might have 1-2 people internally wearing all those hats.

Updated sales map for Wembley. Two new bays have been opened up in the upper bowl of the north stand. There's been some significant movement in sales in the area as well. Of the lower bowl & middle bowl, the areas are really starting to fill up, with possibly only the group of seats between 209 - 212 and 215 - 216 with a significant portion still to move.

Whilst I know the RFL is unlikely to do it, I do think they should be considering opening up the upper bays in the south stand. Clearly sideline seats are moving the quickest and whilst I know the RFL will want to focus on filling the TV arc, but there is an opportunity to at least fill the front of those bays on the other side.

Those tickets aren't cheap.

Have you got an estimate for attendance?

The last two Ashes games at Wembley drew around 54,000 (1990) & 57,000 (1994) although this is the first game at the 'new' Wembley. Either way it would be good to break the record of the previous crowd. I just wonder what sort of atmosphere they'll get and if anyone here has been to both the old and new Wembley stadium.

I watched some footage of both 1990 and 1994 and despite not filling the ground, the noise sounded like it was 100,000.

They need to take a leaf out of the Bulldogs playbook and sell those upper level tickets for 10 quid each...

I don't see how it could be below 50K unless sections are being held back in the lower bowl

The breakdown of Wembley is as follows:

Lower tier: 34,303
Middle tier: 16,532
Upper tier: 39,165

The lower & middle tier are currently around a conservative 90% sold, so that In itself is almost 46K. I'm counting almost 6K sold in the upper bowl, which would put it at around 51-52K.

Comparing it to the Challenge Cup Finals, its well ahead Catalans v Warrington (50,672) and to me looks the same as Leigh v Hull KR (58,213) was on game day.

100% agree with you. I can't understand why there's a staggered opening up of bays.

I’m very sceptical because there’s been no official RFL statement telling us that 50k mark has been passed and instead all we’ve had are vague statements of around 50k tickets sold and we are hoping for 60k etc.

reading that some tickets from sold out bays are back on sale doesn’t fill me with much confidence.

I can appreciate the scepticism, though there have been a lot of tickets sold since October 1 where Rhodri Jones said:

"“That’s easily broken down which tells us we’ve gone over the 45,000 barrier at Wembley which is probably where we expected to be at this point."

There have also been at least 4 additional bays opened up since then in the upper tier, whilst in terms of bays coming back on sale, there hasn't been that many (maybe 6 all up, all with less than 50 seats put on sale).

Assuming Rhodri was telling the truth on October 1, then they would have to be awfully close to 50K, if they haven't surpassed it.

People will come to these international games more when we have a consistent international schedule and the games are competitive. Until then, people have very little reason to invest their hard earned money into brands which barely exist
There is a schedule. The pacific championship are in thier 3rd season.

The games have been close. Except for NZ blowing out the Kangaroo by 30.

Yeap, and arguably the regularity of it is going a way to helping build crowds.

In 2023, the average crowd was 18,816 (75,266 aggregate)
Last year, the average crowd was 25,323 (101,292 aggregate)
This year, a 30K average is not beyond the realms of possibility, especially if the Suncorp game gets to 40K and the Final again sells out.

Imagine five years ago someone said a tri series not involving Australia would average 30k crowds and still get massive tv ratings
