It was announced in the pre-season that Annesley's Monday afternoon reviews would be discontinued -

just be thankful latrell ain’t playing this weekend during this crackdown. I guarantee a sin bin on Friday.

Luckily radley is also out as he’d have been odds on favourite

The other big player in the sin bin shitshow warriors miss out on justice. Will be one week of hysteria then the next NRL will say it’s gone too far, some poor warriors player will cop the worst foul play of the season and it will be play on

Only because he would just blindly support the referees, even when they got it completely wrong. When he first started doing it he would admit they got things wrong but at some stage he stopped doing that. I think it was last year or 2023, he spent 5 minutes talking about a forward pass that wasn't forward ... but clearly was.

Yes but what does anyone gain if they admit fault? Comfort? You'll never see the result of a match overturned.

Incorrect decisions in a round of football don't mean a whole lot to the overall picture. Its over 6-12 months of football you start to get a sense about the standard of officiating in the game. The weekly review hasn't done anything to renew confidence in the clubs of fans. It feels like a pointless exercise and time would be better spent by Annesley and the NRL working on other things.

They did nail it in Round 1. They binned Tapine and then suspended him for 2 games for a standard shoulder charge. Since then I don't think any player has been sinbinned for a shoulder despite there being several that involved direct contact to the head.
Foketi hot binned in round 2 for an innocuous one that the bunker had to go out of its way to find from 2 plays prior. The tackles player didn't even complain.

Since then they have inexplicably not binned a few that were obvious.

Well originally Annesley would explain why decisions went a particular way. Sometimes explaining why a decision is made helps educate the fans with context. But it needs to be consistent and for me that is the biggest problem, the lack of consistency.

Saying the referees got a decision wrong makes them accountable and 'hopefully' leads to improvement.

Thats the only one this year thats seemed be reviewed the same as last season. Mahoney and Luais on the weekend were definitely sin bins, I thought Rikkis could have been a send off it was that bad and it wasnt even bined.

Looking forward to the total over reaction this weekend ruining some great games.

How come Papalii didn't get suspended for touching the ref. WK got a week for running into the ref trying to make a tackle

The biggest joke was Warbrick hitting Damien Cook in the head with his left shoulder then bringing down his left elbow onto Cook’s neck at the 30:40 mark of the 2nd half on the Fox coverage of Saints v Storm last weekend. Cook rightly stayed down. No penalty. Not even on report. Do they even watch these matches?
