2025 Match Review & Judiciary charges

Agreed. It all happened in the one movement, not sure how you get hip drop out of that.

Apparently there are no accidents in rugby league anymore.
Totally agree with this. The momentum of the contact threw Shipley sideways. It’s ingrained to hang on when you make a tackle. The only way the result could be avoided is by letting go of the attacker. And any player doing that would find himself in the Centrelink queue sooner rather than later. And everything happens in a split second.

What, nothing for Euan Aitken's vicious hip drop that almost broke poor Burton's leg? Lol

The MRC actually seem sensible with them this year but the bunker has lost the plot

Hard to believe they called a penalty after seeing the vision. His arse hit the ground then he got pulled over the legs.

Grade 1 careless charge for Kikau defies belief. Anyone charged in the future with anything higher than a grade 1 high tackle should use this example as a template to have their charge downgraded.

Genuinely unclear how people think there was nothing wrong with the tackle tbh

I'm surprised it was referred direct, but he was around the waist, lost his feet, swung onto the legs. It was basically textbook for what they created the name hip drop to mean. I do think there was an element of accident to it, mind you, but that doesn't stop high shots missing 2-3 weeks at times.

Agree. Referred direct is the 'shit player loading', but it covered all the elements of a hip drop. I'm sure most players aren't intentionally trying to seriously injure their opponents, but when a tackle goes wrong, it should be punished.

So they decide Schillers love tap that got him binned was rightfully grade 1. Does that mean the call to bin was incorrect ?
and Mitch Kenny gets a grade 2 no bin no penalty. Surely ref should be dropped for that roosters match for a week.

And Kikau’s grade 1 (which was a grade 2 or worse) was penalty sufficient. Wayne said in the presser that he had a player getting his head stitched up (Campbell-Graham) and the perpetrator stayed on the field. Mickey Mouse stuff.

2 weeks ago a lot lesser tackles were binned than the ones Kikau, Whyte etc. got away with the crackdown is so incredibly inconsistent.

It’s not surprising. That mongoloid Liam Kennedy hates the Knights more than Skeepe does.
