It should be on the Sunday as the following Monday will the Labour Day public holiday in Victoria to get maximum local interest. Something similar should be done for Queensland's Labour Day Weekend in May

Every year there's something on at Accor in March that takes precedence over the footy. Adele, Monster Trucks, whatever. We seem to miss out on the early season crowd buzz (save for Good Friday), and play the bulk of our footy there in and around the Origin period when no-one cares.

You can write off 2026 as well with the AFC Women’s soccer comp on 1-21 March, Accor and Commbank are both confirmed as venues
