I imagine it's probably because it's a better contrast against the Dragons than any of their jerseys that have red or white dominating.

Even if they had a mostly gold jersey, it wouldn't be as good as black.

I'd like to see them move from Black to some shade of grey though - just to get away from the Bears mix of colours.

The gold should be enough, but I wouldn't mind the Dolphins swapping black over to grey.

I don't mind the horse head part of it, but the design/effect they're trying to add around it feels cut off.

Those added bits look a bit weird on a jersey as well

Dragons already use a simplified logo, the dragon itself without the St George crest.

The black and white version is only because the logo has been pulled directly from the IP Australia website. That’s how logos are displayed there.

I like it. The chess piece logo is starting to show its age a little bit - this isn’t too much of a departure from what they have and gives them a nice, clean look.

As with all rebrands and new logos, a lot of people will be vocal about how much they dislike it, how a new logo isn’t needed, etc. But they always come around.

I didn't notice when I saw it earlier, but its in a shield shape too.
I immediately had dislike for it, as I do hate the over simplification of branding these days, would much rather a modern take on the original logo. But this coloured mock up has it growing on me.

Personally, I feel the logo will be plain maroon sitting on a gold background OR plain gold sitting on a maroon background. Think of it as it is, but gold instead of black, and have that sitting on the current Broncos jersey.

Given the logo is in the shape of a shield, I can also see this logo in maroon sitting on a shield of gold. Unfortunately I'm on my phone and not my computer so I can't easily mockup what I'm talking about.
