Overall a solid trial, our defence has obviously been a massive focus in the offseason. Bring on the charity shield

One of my stand outs tonight is our enthusiasm in defence. I watched drill after drill in the open training session on defence & its showing the positive signs of no doubt many sessions like it.

Second half with the seconds team and I thought they did OK. In the last few years we get spanked once our top players go off.

I think our halves combination will work very well this year and provide good ball to the outside backs. Su'A is in for another great year, and I was impressed with Emre Guler, who I thought was the best prop on the field.

Gutho, Cook and Val already making the difference. Ilias and Guhler did enough.
Kyle as they say, elite competitor. Had me a little fuzzy inside when he scored our first try of the season and pointed to the emblem (and not the first time either).
Suli looks much fitter.
Lawson can be anything.

Excellent first trial, couldn’t ask for much more than what they produced.
Top 8 isn’t out of reach this year if we can keep players fit and healthy (touching wood)

Emre was strong, no nonsense prop with some footwork and solid defence. Can't ask for much more

Defensively it was really good. Plenty of players in the tackles right up to the end. I thought the attack looked not too bad either when the firsts were on - seemed to flow a lot better and we've picked up a bit of speed in attack.
I don't blame Rav for the second try but the first one he was out of position. Not quite sure what the problem is there. Lawson looks promising and I was pretty impressed with Emre. He was a good buy.

Rava is a player who gets worse with experience.
How hard is it to mark your man? Makes you want to tear your hair out.

This is not a boring football team. There is a lot of team spirit on display already and there’s no way we are a bottom four team let alone wooden spooners.

This side will challenge for the eight … exciting stuff.
