He cleaned the joint out, but hasn’t found the replacements…

They had a much better second half, so he got through to them somehow.

The pack is the issue. Always said letting RCG go was his first failure (and early).

Backline is good, Brown is the tall poppy ATM but he and Moses are a top halves pair. Smith looks like a prospect but we need a hooker and a pack

Probably right.

I’ve seen your halves rated 3rd in the comp. If Newcastle want to tie their prospects to two or three players it’s risky.

Ryles half time speech must have been one for the ages, because he definitely got through.

But you’d prefer to having him getting through before showtime I suppose.

The purple pin dicks put the cue in the rack majorly. 46-6 first half is much more indicative than 18-10 second.

We'll probably improve a bit through the season but that's hardly a wrap... unless Moses comes back we don't have a dominant half and if derpy Ryles doesn't find a defensive structure, any f**king defensive structure, it could easily be spoon territory again with a squad that definitely shouldn't be that low, pack issues or not.

See you at spoonbowl!

Putting Brown’s ability (or lack there of depending on who you talk to) to the side, this is exactly what the team that just absolutely destroyed the Eels do. If you are going to spend big $$$, you want to do it in the spine.

I think the purple puppets have got wads of non-spine talent sloshing around in the keg. Oozing away, fermenting, winning!

Brown is absolutely a high quality six...the issues is he's a classic running five-eighth. He's got a gun running game, he creates around him on the edges with that and his short passing and kicking game but he is not a halfback. He doesn't really have organisational skills or a long kicking game. He's worth what we're paying him and not a lot more.

TBH part of the problem without Moses is he tries to organise. He'd be better just doing his thing.
