Two all time classic commentary howlers on one day. Ennis saying this match had golden point written all over it at 31 -26 and Kevvie thinking that a Warriors’ player had kicked the ball into touch when Bostock miscued.

Ok I stand half corrected, still Hynes to the backs and Atkinson to halves, or I think ex centre Talakai still played on the forward edge.
No team puts their 7 to centre or wing. Atkinson is the utility back and he's played wing before. They had no choice but to put him there and yet he still negated Coates' double by getting his own (I can't believe I'm defending the Sharks here).

Anyone scores that try. Did it go the same way Atkinson played wing?

Saw the sharks beat Melbourne at the panthers club on holiday last year now on holiday again I’ve seen it happen at the panthers club. Only grand final I’ve been to was 2016. Sharks fans should invite me to their next Melbourne home game

Anyway if Sharks go Hynes fb Atkinson half I think they’re a solid premiership chance, and with Kennedy having shown he’s not atleast rock solid at the back and Stonestreet gone the opportunity is there. But they won’t.

Melbourne are not it, at the moment, but after SOO they could yet become it. I’m not sure how to improve them, maybe Wishart to wing and Faalogo 14, he’s too green for now and I suspect he won’t get there by the end of a season, very dicey playing him anywhere but fullback week in and out 80mins.

Yeah that's true, I just don't understand what your expectations are of Atkinson. The Sharks had literally nobody else to fill that role after losing Ramien and Stonestreet. Coates does that to anyone tonight, let alone Atkinson. I could think of 2 other backline shuffles but neither would have worked and the Storm would have exploited it more anyway.

Yeah, Coates is superhuman jumping for bombs. Wouldn't matter if an nba player was on the wing I'd still back Coates to score over them.

I expect Atkinson at wing to get done over like he did. Coates doesn’t necessarily do that to anyone, it’s possible, he’s capable, but Hynes’ best football in the NRL was at FB, he is a readymade outside back over 6ft and it’s very likely he competes and gets enough of himself in the way to change the outcome. Given Hynes history and Atkinson being a natural half that’s proved the goods given the chance, Hynes at half not being particularly impactful in that game or any other highly competitive game, I’d think a shuffle to put Hynes in the outside backs and Atkinson at half is the obvious go. Kennedy was also pus at fb, as I said before Atkinson half, Hynes fb and Kennedy to wing would solve everything.

They have one of the worst centre pairings in the comp atm. Always let in a few tries in each week. Howarth is an upgrade on Anderson though, no idea when he's due back. Feel like they're pretty much just relying on outscoring their opposition so far this year which won't work on physical teams like Sharks & Canberra who can bash them out of the contest a bit.

Yeah I dunno what they do up the middle. Nelson should get better with more time back, but the Sharks middle showed up with finals intensity and Storm players looked far from having another gear to go toe to toe with them for 80.

On the edges maybe Wishart to centre then, and Meaney to wing. We thoroughly outplayed them on the edges in the GF so I can understand attempting change and hoping Faalogo is part of the answer, but it’s not looking likely.

Coates, Howarth, Wishart, Meaney is where I’d be stacking chips long term if it were up to me.

It'd be interesting to see if it'd work.
