Bulldogs supporters should start building their Cameron Ciraldo statue now so it can be ready when they win the comp. They are clear favourites in my opinion. Main challengers are the Raiders, Storm and Sharks in that order. They will be happy to avoid meeting the Broncos though at the business end.

Averillo at fullback is interesting. It’s a shame that Trai Fuller is injured as he’s first grade standard. The Bulldogs love kicking long to their left with a good chase by Kikau and co. to pin down the opposition in that corner of the field. They have plenty of smaller and quick players with good footwork like Kiraz, Tracey and Hayward. Will be interesting to see how Hayward goes as a starter.

The Dolphins’ handling let them down big time last week. They’ve got a big forward pack and need to follow the Broncos’ lead in turning the ball in and running behind the play the ball.

Prediction:

Bulldogs by 4
MOTM Bailey Hayward
Sin Bin : Kaufusi

Dogs should win this one the usual way... behind at half time and overwhelm in the 2nd half... speaking of halves, I expect Toby Sexton to put in an eye catching performance in his last game for the berries before he's dumped harder than Jarrod McCracken in a spear tackle for Gus-stein's new young play thing.

Phins 14-10 HT
Dogs 32-20 FT
