Should be a cracker! Hopefully the SFS is pumping with 35k plus.

It's not must win for the roosters but if they do win they become odds on to make the finals with games against Parra and Souths to come.

I said last week I low key thought Easts could win the comp. Despite being arguably weaker on paper then the last few years theyve adjusted their game (finally) and throw a bit more at teams. This has led to a few losses against shit teams like Souths and Tits but then a win against Penrith and near misses to Dogs/Storm.

I didnt take a lot from the Dogs win last week. Wahs are in freefall, missing key players and will likley just hold onto 8th.

Easts have too much firepower, Angus will run riot over Galvin and should get this done by 12.

Someone's bubble is getting burst here. If the good Roosters turn up then I think they trouble the Dogs.

Don't think we are any realistic chance of winning the comp. A finals appearance would be a great result. The most pleasing aspect of the season is the improvement of the team, especially the young guys including 8 debutants. You mention losses against souths and titans, we also lost to warriors in that run and IMO there is no way any of those 3 teams gets within 20 of us 4 months later.

In the middle of the season we lost to the top 3 teams by a total of 12 points. We will see this week if we have improved enough to beat them.

Agree with what you say re: dogs form. We cant look at wins against the warriors as any indicator at this point. The last team that felt good about themselves after beating the warriors just had 60 put on them. Bulldogs are way better than the dolphins though and this Friday will say a lot about both teams.

Dogs aren't going great but Easts really struggle to break down decent defence.

Roosters have been 50'd this year. No way they break that hoodoo.

Really looking forward to this one. Last time these teams met Ciraldo totally outcoached Robinson. The Roosters went through a phase of totally ignoring the 2nd biggest aerial threat in the comp in Toupou for about 4 weeks for some reason and this match was in that period. There were 2 or 3 times in that match where they were in a perfect position to bomb but ignored it. This time they have 2 bombadiers in Walker and Savala and apart from Toupou , 2 secondary targets in Marky Mark and Billy Smith.

Walker’s short kicking game is the key to this match in my opinion. He won the game for the Roosters against the Bulldogs in the wet at Gosford last year via it. When it’s on song it’s impossible to defend it .

The Bulldogs’ defence looked great last week but if the truth be told the Warriors’ threw nothing at it. Still you can only defend what’s in front of you and the Warriors only scored via a kick and an intercept. It’s virtually impossible to go through the Bulldogs’ brick wall and also very hard to get around it. They adjust very well to a quick shift and cover extremely well on the odd occasion they get outflanked.

The best way to attack the Bulldogs is to cut back towards the posts from 1,2 or 3 passes wide of the ruck with mobile players with good footwork . This minimises the number of defenders in the tackle and results in a quicker ptb .And lets’s face it winning games is all about quick ptbs in the right part of the field.

The Roosters are almost as inconsistent as Manly. And sometimes their forwards, for whatever reasons, just don’t turn up. And they are more than capable of putting on an error riddled performance when you don’t expect it . The win against the Dolphins would have been good for their confidence but is not the ideal preparation for a grinding finals type match which is on the cards here.

Another Tiger's supporter who just can't help but mention Galvin!
He broke up with you guys 2 months ago... Move on!

Ive said on many occassions Galvin will be great longterm for the dogs. I think the point Ive said has plenty of merit, we saw Cleary pick him out the second he came onto the field in their game. Luai and Samuela Fainu did with great effect fornight ago. Its not exactly shocking that a 20 year old half struggles to defend, you dont think the Dogs wont be looking to get Preston one on one with Walker?
