Jason Ryles is finding out how Cameron Ciraldo felt in his 1st year at the Bulldogs. But Ciraldo had a plan in place and it all game together in his 2nd year. The Bulldogs hit the ground running this year and seem to have a few extra gears in place. Used them against the Titans. Just doing what they had to do. Penrith B if you will. Weunlucky to miss the 4 last year but are a lock for the 4 this year. They’ll win 90% of those grinding matches.

Looking at the Parramatta squad they have spoon written all over them. With Moses out for even longer than expected I don’t see a way out for them. We’ll find out whether Ryles can coach next year. Massive leap from assistant to head coach as the Dolphins are discovering. The only card Ryles can play is activating the Fox against his old club. The Bulldogs by 28 .

Less about Ciraldo, more about the ability of Gould to reshape the roster quickly using his special contacts and relationships with player managers. Eels don’t have anyone of that stature in their recruitment team, that was a massive advantage and changed the whole trajectory of the club, us Eels fans can only hope that while their plan is to do similar they just don’t have anyone with the gravitas to pull it off as quickly.
