Interesting looking at the highlights from the Charity Shield, we saw an exciting comeback in the 2nd half with Humphreys and Keaon especially combining on our left side. It was a great little combo but we all know Cody is our left side half so will be interesting to see how Humphreys goes on the right side or if the 2 of them will swap it round a bit.

Also, I thought Keaon was great on the left edge when he has traditionally played on the right while Arrow has played left side when he's been on the edge. Will they revert back to that or will they swap round and leave Keaon on the left?

Finally, on the wings, I think the interview with Tass earlier in the week indicated that he was playing outside Campbell which means Munro will play left side which I think is great while AJ is still out as that's the side we play most of our quick shifts and we need our fastest man available on the end of that. I saw somewhere where they were saying who was the fastest player at each club that Munro and AJ were a dead heat. Obviously that would have been going of last year's stats before AJ got injured. But I expect when AJ is back hopefully round 4 as suggested, that Munro goes back to the right wing and Tass drops out.

Yeah speedster I thought Koala was great on the left so it's a nice problem to have as to leaving him on the left or reverting him back to his usual right side.
Typical Wayne - he likes to broaden players' utility value by getting them used to playing on both sides of the field and also in different positions sometimes so they have greater utility value. He strengthens the squad that way by value adding.

‘Four or five’ Dolphins set to miss Bunnies game; injury-hit Bulldogs set for more changes: Late Mail

Late Mail: The Dolphins are set to be without four to five players according to The Courier Mail’s Peter Badel, who reported Mark Nicholls is expected to be one of the players unavailable as the club deals with the impending threat of Cyclone Alfred.

Nikorima's wife had a social media post critical of the NRL not accommodating family on the news so he is likely to be another one.

‘Major concerns’: Wives and partners ‘filthy’ as Dolphins make hotel offer to families

Families have not been offered temporary relocation to Sydney for the game, but that instead there have been invitations for the wives, partners and children to stay at the Sofitel Hotel in Brisbane’s CBD.
........
While the prospect of multiple Dolphins players pulling out has led to cries of an “unfair advantage” for South Sydney, Badel said coach Kristian Woolf told him earlier on Wednesday that the “show is going on” and that he was heading to the airport to travel to Sydney.

“Even if there are mass withdrawals, there will be a 17-man Dolphins team ready to play on Friday night,” Badel added.

The NRL should foot the bill to get all of the players families down to Sydney so all of the players can play and have their minds at ease about their loved ones. How is that not an obvious necessity?

If not, then the Qld government should pay for it.

Changes on nrl.com late mail - Nikorima out, Sullivan the new 5/8; Nicholls out and Kerr comes onto the bench; Bromwich is gone from the reserves list and Oryn Keeley has being added.

Still a very strong side unless more drop out and they would be very determined to fight hard under these circumstances.

I don't know if it's any advantage to Souths at all actually.

Well here we are Game Day is here. It’s been a big build up and we start afresh 2025 starts now! We dump that horrible season last year and move into a new era with the wily old fox Wayne Bennett back at the helm. The boys have been putting in so much work over the pre season and it’s time to put it into action. The intensity at training seems to be higher than last year but it’ll mean nothing if we don’t transfer it on the field. I got to say I’m pumped to start off the season on the right note. Yes we still have some key outs but we do get some key players back as well. All of a sudden as well the game is in Sydney who’s have thought that a week ago that we now get to play in Sydney. Even though the Dolphins have had to travel now I expect that to galvanise them that’s for sure they’re a quality side. I’ll just say as well we are thinking of all those up there in QLD that the damage with this cyclone will be as minimal as possible. I’m also glad to say I’ve got the day off work now too and will be out there in full voice tonight. I’m not expecting too much of a crowd but us diehards will need to make plenty of noise. What’s more is we have Adam Gee we often know what he’s like on our games so we need to get into him try get some calls for our boys.

Looking at the sides for the Dolphins they have a strong pack still with Saifiti, Gilbert, Plath, Finefuiaiki, Kerr etc and they have JMK, I Kat who are good players along with the lethal Hammer and Farnworth out wide so they have strike everywhere so this is not going to be easy at all they’ll be giving it everything tonight. Really we are gonna have to match them in the middle and limit the damage of Hammer and Herbie to go a long way towards winning. The media has carried on about the players they are missing but so are we missing key players at that. For us well there is no Trell, Murray, Aitken, AJ, Dodd etc but it’s great to get back Cody, Campbell, Jai and Junior tonight they are big ins. We need our pack to set the tone we need Moale, Keppie, Arrow, Keaon etc to step up. I’m looking forward to watching Hubner as well go about his work. Off the bench we will need our guys to do the job. I’m looking forward to watching Humphreys at 7 as well it’s a big opportunity for him. If our pack can match them then we can get Cody, Humphreys, J. Gray and our outside backs into the game. We need to get good ball out to Campbell and Wighton as well. I think what Jai said earlier this week about completing highly kicking to corners defending strong will go a long way towards winning. We need to be patient in attack as well and build pressure.

Well not long til the players come out here onto Commbank stadium so great to see so much red and green in the stands here at short notice with the game now being moved to Sydney. Our thoughts go out to all those in QLD right now. Let’s make sure we are making plenty of noise for the full 80mins to get our boys in the mighty Cardinal and Myrtle off to a winning start tonight to start the year and get those 2 vital competition points. Let’s make sure we have that mighty South Sydney chant going for the full 80mins here tonight!

Ok Rabbitohs members and Rabbitohs supporters please give a warm South Sydney welcome to the Redcliffe Dolphins……….
