Far out Latrell is so good when he decides he wants to play.
He's just getting to that age where you would think he has matured enough to really become more controlled and consistent, especially with Wayne there to mentor him through. He's a big character with a big ego (and boot) that only really someone like Wayne can harness and get the best out of. Providing his body can settle and stay strong.

I think we saw signs of Latrell becoming more consistent last year actually. There was that 6 game stretch where we were on a winning run after Latrell had returned from suspension for that hair brained lash out at Shaun Johnson. I thought he was finally taking more runs, not dishing off to wingers as much, winning special moments until he broke his foot and that was that.

I feel confident he is even more mature and up for the full responsibilities he knows he carries to play his best football yet. And when he finally gets to combine with Cody at 6 and AJ at 2 while he is at 1, that's the magic combo we have yet to see this year, then we will look like a genuine threat. If only the boys can all get on the park at the same time and our injury curse can end.

Far out Latrell is so good when he decides he wants to play. I don't know why Koloamatagi prefers to play in the second row when he's a natural prop. He looks so much better taking hit ups through the middle. Hubner and Humphreys are such big additions to the starting side for me.
And Keaon has surely got himself exiled from playing edge after that performance. Middle is his spot for good surely. I still hope to see Tats back. I think he was partly dropped but also partly rested for some niggles he needed to get right. otherwise, I would have dropped Keppie before Tats after the Knights debacle.

I think tatola needs game time in reggies to get match fit and confidence

I think his fitness has built up okay over the season by now. Just needed a rest but also maybe a rev up to do better. He's too good for reggies and I expect him to be back next week on the bench. But who do you drop? I'd have him in for Keppie although Wayne may not want to change a winning team.

I thought Duncan had a poor 1st half and a better 2nd half. But he doesn't look like an edge player to me. Maybe he gets the hang of playing edge with more time there but he's always been a small middle and is good value off the bench I feel.

I wonder if Wayne brings Tats back into starting prop and Arrow back to edge? Not Keaon. He stays middle but does Arrow stay there too? He's a genuine middle too really. If only Schuster could get fitter and play some games in reggies at edge.

Gray got very few minutes which did surprise me but Wayne reacts to how the game is going. Gray was ok at dh for his first ever stint there but there will be games in future where Wayne utilises Jye in a more attacking way. Last night was a forward slog in the rain which had a different need I guess.

Sullivan was ordinary in the 1st half but defended really well in the 2nd half and also got a half break in the 2nd half that Havili was able to score from dh on the back of. Otherwise, was thinking Gray to 6 until Cody returns? But Wayne won't change a winning side I don't think.

Further observations from The Loft:
The Loft notices that Wests/Balmain whoever they actually are, have been posted as favorites over us next contest. They are also half our quote to win the Title.
Its been 15 years or so since these Malaka Gypsies [what is their real Home Ground?] have even been cited yet here we are supposed to be inferior to these misfits.
If The Humph and Mitchell play and especially if Alex J returns as Burt hinted post-game, get on.
Our overall form has been dodgy sure however there has been mitigating circumstances in terms of personnel. Still, Burt has managed to sink Brisbane, Penrith [both at 10/1] and Easts who have improved significantly. We did hold Bellamy to 10-10 at the half and put up a strong showing against the 2/1 clear overall favourites at a place where we are 0-25 or similar.
If we start to recover key personnel we are far from out of this, anything can happen. Recall two years ago, we led everybody after Rd11, 6 straight, then collapsed, hit the oil slick. This seems very likely to occur to teams currently above us in the Classifica.

Talis made 4 uncharacteristic mistakes, id let it ride and see
Yes Duncan makes errors consistently. BUT his work rate is usually very high and dropping him would only erode his confidence. The back row of Duncan-Aiken-Hubner - supported by young Le Leblanc - looks good to The Loft. Athletic and willing. Its surely what we need to develop.

Le Blanc has to be in the 17, are you all blind? His effort is relentless and even Gould remarked when we sank Easts that he interviewed Le Blanc when he was a junior in Queensland and Gould concluded, quote " he reminded me of a young Liam Martin". Good enough for The Loft.
Le Blanc a keeper.
