Strange, how we dont get any data from Fox anymore, by rights the NRL and AFL should know the amount people watching their sports

The AFL and NRL can clearly get this data from Foxtel, as evidenced by the figures in their annual reports. Its the general public that cant access them without a release from Fox - its all internal data now.

I find this really strange. Are we living in a third world country?

Thu N #NRL has an aggregate audience of 7.694m on Nine for the season at an average of 641,000 viewers per match. (BVOD 96k, Reach 1.435m). This is up 7.7% YoY

Thu N #AFL was the lowest rating Thursday game of the season. and well below the average of 601,000 for the season. (down 4.4% YoY). It should be noted that the AFL didnt play Thu N games last year between June 3 and the Finals on Sept 5. Data: VOZ, last night not consolidated.

Anyway, reach is a pointless excerise, it doesn't determine how long someone has watched anything, they could've just turned off the channels in 5 minutes. So it means sh1t

AFL in Melbourne isn't much different to other major cities teams once you take out Collingwood, Richmond, Carlton and Essendon ( I think that's the big 4). They really do help bring the crowd averages and ratings up of most other teams.

Without the big 4, the Storm would complete quite well in terms of market share with the likes of North Melbourne, St Kilda and the Bulldogs by the looks of it.

How can you just take out those teams though? Hawthorn, Melbourne, Western Bulldogs all significantly outdraw the Storm too.

We need to stop pulling our dicks that our crowds are comparable.

The Storm crowds are amazing, and they embarrass Sydney when it comes to attendance.

You can't take them out. My point was there are four massive AFL clubs in Melbourne, who's fans really help inflate the crowd averages of the smaller ones. The Storm don't do so badly compared to the crowds when the smaller Melbourne clubs play each other or when out of town clubs play the smaller Melbourne clubs.
