I know it's just trials, but how nervous must the Roosters & their fans be about now?
Whipped by the Knights (who many were tipping to be a fellow spoon-contender).

Roosters first 7 rounds:

Broncos (Home)
Panthers (Away)
Warriors (Away)
Titans (Home)
Rabbits (Away)
Broncos (Away)
Panthers (Home)

Titans and potentially Rabbits their easier tasks.

2/7 potentially. Could beat Penrith who may well start slow however they haven't done that to us this decade.

The Knights don’t usually start their season until round 20 either so to be touched up like that in a trial with their full strength team isn’t good.

There was a lot to like in that game yesterday. Newcastle seemed to be playing well, defending well, ect, and the Roosters looking like they're on their way down the ladder in 2025. It would be a great year to see them come last, only bettered should Brisbane do it again.

No chance PussyMike.

Wahs, Storm and Manly the only clubs that has avoided the spoon.
I seem to recall one season where Melbourne came last, thus winning the spoon. If anyone needs reminding, let's just say that the club was a very naughty little club that year.

True on the Storm. Replace Storm with the Dolphins, even though they recently entered the NRL.

Makes the Wahs look better considering they joined in 1995.

How do they play Brisbane and Penrith twice in the first 7 weeks? Do they play pin the tail on the donkey to come up these schedules?

This has been going on for a quite a while now. I think it started around 2018?

Penrith play Parramatta in rounds 13 and 19 this year (Both post Origin with players backing up).

Warriors - Awful last year and have lost both Johnson and Harris for 2025
You say that last bit like it’s a negative- the reality is both of them were playing broken last year and were much of the reason we had a bad year. Essentially this year was meant to be out rebuilding year but it basically happened last year because of injuries.

I don't think Roosters are spoonworthy but there's a real good chance they'll be closer to that than the top 8.
