Interesting that Melbourne are such a big draw up there.

Could it be the attraction, I`m not being condescending, of playing a team with a big city in its` name, not to mention the other side of the country.

Sooner the better we teams dotted all over the region the better.
it's because we finally get to see what a well drilled RL side looks like........

All jokes aside, they've always had a good following in NQ because of past QLD rep players being at the Storm, and currently there is Munster and Harry Grant playing for them so NQ peeps generally like seeing decent footballers in the flesh.

Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing is the worst. It escalates so quickly and just kills all pre-sales.
Tell me Yakstorm, my wife loves buying stuff on-line, if she looks at something on-line on Amazon, next time she looks there is without fail usually an increase in price, sometimes she waits days for it to go back down, the worst thing you can do is keep on looking.
Is this how dynamic pricing works on Ticketmaster? and I suppose for a high volume event like a League game it is hard to avoid.

Hat to think what prices at hbf are going to be! we are a long way from the working man’s game we used to be.
I agree with this but I think the GA prices aren't that bad. Look what it costs to go to the cinema or a conert or even just grocery shopping, prices for everything is insane. I'd like them to be a bit cheaper but they're not crazy. Some of the higher tiers are absolutely insane and when you get to stuff like finals or SOO it's just wild.

NQ there looks to be about 2.5k tickets still available for Saturday.

Some of the pricing is absolutely disgusting

It's also $180 to sit in line with the try line on the lower east side.........

That is ridiculous, i was thinking of going up to Townsville this year when the Roosters play as i wont be going anywhere over seas but i might rethink it if pricing is that excessive.

Never keep looking after a purchase. Unless you intend to buy the same item again. The chance of feeling self-satisfied is not worth the risk of turning into an anti-capitalist misanthrope.

Just follow the advice of the refrain in the Southern gospel song "Farther Along"-

"Farther along we'll know more about it,
Farther along we'll understand why;
Cheer up, my brother, live in the sunshine,
We'll understand it all by and by"

Good to see you back in the land-of-the-living RTLTZ, and as per usual I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. 🤖

most people dont go to 12-14 expensive concerts a year.
cinema is $15-25.
for me its more about giving g people who dont have much money the opportunity to still go to a game. At $40 a ticket that excludes people without a lot of disposable income.
Make ga $20 at every stadium, nrl can get behind that and get some feel goods off the back of it.
Clubs are now making millions profits, the games making tens of millions, they can afford to not leave a section of fans behind.

On ticket prices....

Me and my mate usually go to an interstate roosters game every year. This year the NFL is in melbourne so we are looking at that. Ticket prices for that start at $140 for a literal once a year event that most people will only go to once in their lives.

If I have the choice of $200 for the NFL in Melbourne or $200 for the NRL in Townsville, I know which I would prefer.

I hope binoculars are included with the ticket purchase.

I've always found Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing to be relatively 'dumb' compared to say platforms like Amazon. Amazon's algorithm arguably looks at order demands, inventory, competitors and browser behaviour to help determine whether it should adjust the pricing and will look to adjust both ways.

I've never seen Ticketmaster adjust pricing down dynamically, it's always taken manual intervention. Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing works based upon available inventory across the stadium, but is heavily skewed by what is available in a bay. The problem will that approach is if only part of a bay is released (which is what's happened in 101, 102, 111, 112, as these bays are predominately taken up by members & corporates) it will push the price up, even if there hasn't been any significant demand.

So for the Cowboys v Storm game, it has gone, 'strong sales across the event' + ' very limited tickets in these bays' and has decided that a ticket that usually retails for $112.79 should now be priced at $229.85 which is a ridiculous increase. If the system was smart, it would have at least partially corrected by now and lowered the price a bit, especially considering none of the seats in those bays have moved for 5+ days.

I know Penrith like to be conservative with their estimates, but there is no way this match was only getting 15K at CommBank on a fine Saturday. Anyway, here's the updated sales map. It's definitely looking positive.

For comparasion, this is the seating map for CommBank for the Eels v Dragons game (though they had an extra day to sell)
