Their main priority is getting the sustained success to begin with

They need to push that Campbelltown region .. they have been criticised in the past for neglecting the West … thats their medium term juniors and long term supporter base …

Playing more games there will help … not more games at Commbank 50 Kms away … play against the Dogs and Parra there sure …but they won’t necessarily get a bigger crowd there when they are playing an out of town team or even some Sydney teams ..Parra got a shit crowd there against the Titans on a beautiful Sunday afternoon
I'm not in disagreement with you there. I'm not a Tigers fan, I just think people judge the Tigers based on their bad years but forget about their good years. The Tigers fan base is larger than people think. It's bigger than the Roosters and the Roosters can average 25k because they have a world class stadium and success. If the Tigers had the success that the Roosters have had over the past 15 years, they'd already be in that same ballpark for crowds, if not greater.

You are entitled to your opinions …Im not gunna say you are wrong …

As I mentioned to you yesterday though …I think it’s a moot point for a long while ..they have done deals with the local councils for Leichhardt and Campbelltown upgrade money in return for games through 2041 …. We don’t know for sure the numbers or split of games officially … but I recall Richardson when he was still the CEO saying something like that 7/3 split Cambo /LO I mentioned earlier …

That's getting done in 2028
Yeah a north stand with corporate facilities, and at the south I think it’s a HPC with seating in front of it. Wests Leagues Macarthur is behind that.
I think that is what I read, close to that anyway.

The capacity goes up a few thousand but the profit per game goes up due to the increased corporate facilities

Just bought tickets for the Wellington game, very few left (under 1000).

Offical sellout as of this afternoon 🙌

Think it's the first time Welly has soldout a league game (there's been a bunch of well-attended ones which I've been to most of since '02 but never a full house).

Please be a Storm-type game and not a Tigers-type game 🤞

EDIT - FYI, highest league crowd was 30k vs Doggies in 2013, highest event was 36k Hurricanes/Highlanders final with temp seating as per : https://www.austadiums.com/city/wellington/crowds

Given the official capacity is 33k with normal setup I'm assuming it'll be closer to that number (depending on who actually turns up, not to mention corporate booths which I've got no idea how they record that in attendance figures)

Wests Tigers ask fans to stand to boost Campbelltown Stadium capacity for Broncos clash
Get on your feet Wests Tigers fans – it’s standing room only. Literally.

Wests Tigers are planning to cram up to 2000 extra fans into a bulging Campbelltown Stadium for Saturday night’s NRL blockbuster against reigning premiers Brisbane to accommodate surging interest in the high-flying joint venture.
The club will ask supporters on the stadium’s eastern and western hill areas to stand rather than sit, enabling another 1300 fans into the big game.
Talk about embarrassing, sometimes we`ve got a long way to go if we are going to be the NFL of the southern hemishere.

FFS, their CEO came out and said loud and clear last week, "You better get your head around it, Campbelltown is our future", I think they`re on to it.

The one plus of this game not being part of the standard member allocation is the announced crowd is far more likely to be closer to the listed capacity for the venue.

If the expected crowd is going to be too large for Campbelltown, why not move it to Allianz Stadium or CommBank where 30,000 fans can sit comfortably? I just don't understand the backwards thinking of NRL clubs.

Because it will not get 30K at Allianz. Sydney is not Melbourne. Home ground advantage means something. We don't want to be like the AFL with 9 clubs playing out of 2 stadiums. How f**king boring would that be.

Is that why Wests Tigers have like 3-4 different home grounds? It just seems like a flashback to the 1980s for a club to be asking its members to stand on a hill so a few more people can be crammed in ... not a modern professional sports league. Sydney has plenty of new modern stadiums, why not use them?

The NRL for all it's flaws value tribalism, history, and home ground advantage. It's why they don't play out of 2 stadiums like the AFL does.

The West Tigers play out of multiple home grounds because they are a merger club, and they want to play out of both Leichardt and Campbeltown to serve both fanbases. Commbank is being used atm because there isn't enough corporates atm out of the other two venues which is why both are getting upgrades.

Since you're from Melbourne you also wouldn't understand that the geography is different and there isn't a stadium in Sydney in a location as good as the MCG.

There are some clubs (Dragons) who I believe would benefit playing at a more centralised location (Allianz) but at the end of the day, its the clubs choice.

Hills have sold out for Campbelltown. The request to stand hasn't put off people. For the club's Thursday night game at Leichhardt the following round, there are currently only the hill and 12 seats left in the ground.

It's not unrealistic that ANZAC Round might end up with 8 sell outs. Cowboys v Sharks at 6pm on a Friday is possibly the hardest ask, but with the three ANZAC Day games well on track, Broncos v Bulldogs down to the hundreds of seats left, and Newcastle & Manly both successfully selling out all their home games to date, it's a real possibility.

FMD, ticketmaster on their shit again at QCB. As if a Thursday night isn't a hard enough sell up there, $150 plus booking to sit in the eastern lower level....IMG_8177.jpeg

You don’t understand backwards thinking but want to move a game from Campbelltown to Allianz? You do know those two grounds are 50km away from one another right?

Professional leagues in the world also don’t have half their teams playing out of 1 or 2 stadiums.

when you consider that Adelaide teams also play out of 1 stadium and so do Perth teams, it’s literally just a handful of stadiums that host AFL games.

What other professional competition in the world has most of its teams sharing stadiums like that?

imagine if all the London premier league clubs played out of 1 stadium like they do in the fumble. What a joke!

mind you which sporting competition owns and runs a whole bunch of its teams like the afl does? And gives those teams distinct advantages over other teams?

FLA - a corporate wankery of a sport. Not a legit sporting competition.

At least in the nrl we have unique grounds and true home grounds. Not a Mickey Mouse made up comp where half the teams play in one ground and the other half are propped up and given advantages to ‘grow the game’ which in effect is rigging the comp to favour some teams. How anyone follows that sport is beyond me.
