Wish our teams would release a season "uniform schedule" like the NFL teams do. I know it isn't feasible, with our teams having so many (unnecessary) special round jerseys that aren't revealed until later in the season, but a man can dream.
Contacted the NRL about at least a weekly version of this last year - they confirmed it was an internal document they didn't have any intention of circulating publicly, even if there was interest. Disappointing for sure.

Were the dragons shorts Vegas one-offs or is that the new style? They are all white with a large red dragon on the players left thigh.

Even if a few games per year are "special round" jerseys, the full jersey schedule for the year could be released before those special jerseys are released - just mark those weeks as "Anzac Jersey - To be released later" or "Indigenous jersey - to be released later" for example.

We'd still have a full schedule that details what jerseys will be worn when - and for the already released home and alt/away jerseys (which make up MOST rounds) it gives fans a welcome "heads up" about what's being worn when - especially if a club doesn't strictly stick to wearing home at home & alternate/away when traveling.

I wondered that too. I figured that they were one-off Vegas shorts to go with their one-off Vegas jerseys.

This is some "on the spectrum" shit right here

The NBA do this with their NBA LockerVision site. Unreleased jerseys are included as silhouettes until they are announced. The only down side to this is that it may jump the gun on a team's special jersey before they announce that they have one - like the Broncos Black jersey or the Bulldogs heritage last season. You could just put "Special Jersey" though and leave everything else up to speculation. I don't see any real harm in knowing clubs will have a special jersey before the release what it actually is.

You could even link the images to the NRL/Club stores to purchase them. Sounds like good advertising. I never really understood why they don't do this on the nrl.com preview page of the game. Even if it only intrigues a small minority, it's not hard and it wouldn't annoy those who don't care.

dont they understand the freaks and sickos need it!
All joking aside, it's a good move that's been done by others sports leagues.. making that info available well in advance should fans want to know.

It also filters through to spending decisions too.. gives collector-fans a real insight into exactly how many jerseys are coming up for their club - and roughly when they'll be released.

Yea not gonna lie, I actually thought the Dragon logo looked pretty good on the shorts.
Though it only works because of the use of a single colour.
Many clubs have secondary logos that would work on the shorts and look quite good.
100% agree. I’m not a dragons fan but i noticed it and thought it looked pretty good, for comparison without looking it up I’d struggle to point out a single shorts detail about any of the other teams playing in Vegas as a neutral

Whatever happened to the Alternaleaf sponsorship the Dolphins temporarily got away with..?
I know they had to cover it up after a couplo games, but was there any sort of announcement to confirm the obvious..?

“There was some noise around our partnership earlier this year, and we worked closely with Alternaleaf and the TGA to find a workable resolution,” Dolphins chief executive Terry Reader said.

“Given the challenges with the regulations, our partnership concluded. We still have a great relationship with Alternaleaf, and were circumstances to change, we would certainly be open to working with them again in the future.”

This is from Oct 2024
