Would love to see the Eels apply the blowtorch here and beat Melbourne.

Unfortunately I have to back the Storm. Too good in round 1. But the Eels aren't letting Lomax play on Thursday night. He can play in the return leg and be greeted by his former fans ar Commbank.

Melbourne look very vulnerable this year but having said that, they've still got 3 of the very elite spine players going around. No Coates and no Katoa hurts them, as they went to those guys aerially quite regularly last season

We play the Storm at Magic Round this year as a home game.

We will win this one as our obligatory round 1 win but I don't think we will be much chop this season! Too many missing.

That Melbourne backline looks as weak as I've ever seen them look. They have enough to get the job done here but wins won't come as easily in years past.

You guys are f**ked.. nobody has mentioned the 22 for Parra.

Looking forward to gameday thread and which commentator makes the best call about this guy shooting off the line or dome such.

Melbourne by the usual 40+

That Storm team is total aids, but then I look at the 6/7/9, remember the home team calls they'll get and tip them. Eels will definetly give it a shot and wont die wondering. Hard to judge their pre season as they only played 40mins against a first grade side and lost that 22-12, Easts opened them up fairly easily and should have lead by more. Brian Kelly is a terrible defender, not sure Meaney/Leo will make him pay too much.

Should be an entertaining game, Storm by 8.

Premature Ejaculate will probably play NRL sometime this year. Just disappointed we won’t get Rabs trying to pronounce it

The NSW Cup game had 3 players sent off or binned after the final siren! Haven't seen that before.
Hope there's video somewhere to see what happened.
