Martin has peaked. We have some good players who can easily fill his role. It's more of a salary cap thing and value for him. Good player but not an essential worker

Easily? He is top 5 2nd rower in game. I dont know how easily that is to replace.
My complaint with Martin is his hands. Dropsma lot of ball when makes a break or when put into a hole.

Should be heading into the middle

Not just yet I think.

But I thought the same thing when I saw him play early in his career. If he made 8-10 hard carries up the middle I wouldn't want to tackle him.

Martin’s a tricky one. For the last three seasons, for about 90% of the time, he’s been a complete non-event. Banged up or not, he doesn't involve himself and he’s not in the top 20 backrowers in the comp. And don’t tell me we’re paying him $750k to make a couple of big kick chases a game.

Then finals come along.

And I'd back the big dawg against anyone.

I reckon rest some of these guys more, one at time. Marto constantly looks banged up, if hes not playing well give him a week off.

I really hope we can get Yeo consistent minutes on the bench now, try and extend his career deep into his 30s. The 80 minutes he does are brutal. Cam Smith is the only guy that springs to mind who did that for a huge period of time without missing lots of games with injury.

People like Martin that go so hard for so long end up wearing out at some stage usually before their 30. Take Nathan Brown as an example a few years ago he went as hard as anyone and was the of the games better forwards. Then he wore out and was no good anymore and no one wanted him, I don't even know where he is these days. Sadly Marto isn't too far off from being where brown is now

In some respects players like that often coast through the year just to pace themselves to complete the season. From earlier wear and tear.
Whether Martin has any juice left in him we shall see.

In the off season he reinvented his running action with a biometrics expert. Focusing on turning his running power into speed. His time over 20 metres improved from 3 2 seconds to 2.8 seconds. A considerable improvement.
I hope he has a big year.
