Hopefully bangladesh win this, heaps more pressure on England. But a very good showing for Coetzer and Scotland. Good to see another competitive performance from an associate
you forgot about Afghanistan as well. Don't rule out the possibility of the Afghans beating England if they play to a similar standard as they did against Sri Lanka. A bowler like Hassan will be difficult to face if the SCG pitch has some life in it. He bowled an absolute beauty to dismiss Faulkner yesterday whilst his teammates were being hammered around the park.
Bangladesh will be playing England in Adelaide, which will be a 100% flat-track. Bangladesh's only hope for a win will be to bat first and post a score of at least 300, and then take a couple of early wickets that will put a huge amount of pressure on England. That has been the strategy of teams like India in this tournament.
And yes, I admit I'd love to see the Poms miss out on the Quarter-Finals. They don't deserve to be there based on their performances so far, and if they scrape in 4th place, I fear there's a chance they could pull off upsets in the knock-out stage and advance much closer to World Cup glory when they shouldn't have been anywhere near there in the first place (hence why this tournament should have had the 2003WC format of a Super Six if 14 teams were the criteria. Top 3 advancing through the group phase would've made things more interesting). England will fancy their chances if they play India, knowing that they had the edge over them in the recent tri-series.
The Finals is a completely different stage of the tournament. It comes down to who turns up on the day.
