Hunt looks promising
Yes he does. Reckon he is ready for Tests now.. in his third shield season and averages a healthy career @39.. last 12 matches he is batting @45.
On the other hand Street needs to strengthen technically IMO. The man has swathes of patience allowing him to bat all day but he does look vulnerable against the moving ball at times. His spin play is also not all that flash.

Richardson was cannon fodder in his last game for Oz as the ball was not moving, the conditions really need to suit him as he is not that quick, not that Nesser is any different. There current 3 are a class above our other bowlers as their pace can pick up a wicket at any part of a test match.

Also if Warner is out, they'll pick Oozie, thats how they work, they have this pecking order situation and the next batsmen will come in which is Oozie, current form (Australia A) means nothing to them

The conditions must suit him in shield a lot, average of 21 with a strike rate of 48. Richardson also bowls at 140kmh, the difference is he doesn’t get the bounce the taller guys get, it’s not the speed.

Tbh I always think it’s a mistake judging matches in isolation.

This could be a 3 day test.

Broad and Anderson could cause us a bit of trouble. Steve Smith pink ball record in Adelaide is average compared to his usual standards. Warner under a injury cloud. Batting isn't as strong as i feel people think it is.

But if the poms struggled in Brisbane god knows how on earth they will get to 250-300 in Adelaide.

I‘m definitely aware of his flaws, but the thing is we don’t have many great options. I mean, that’s why Harris is in the team. Hunt looks promising, hopefully he continues to improve.

To be honest, anyone partnering Warner and we win this ashes series

Not sure id be taking either Harris or Khawaja on our next few tours, which are all in Asia. Then again how is Marnus going to go over there? Head, Green and Carey dont elighten me with confidence in Asia. And if Smith doesnt perform, could be the most hyped up plop fest we ever witness, particularly in India

Anyway for now, lets belt the poms 5-0 and declare world domination

Is anyone else worried that the legendary NSW fast bowler pipe line is drying up?
Look at this Australia A team I don't think there is any young NSW fast bowler, probably the shield team is the same. Is there anything below the 28 year old Cummins?

It is a worry. CNSW has identified this problem by choosing pace for all four of our current rookie spots. Tell you what like to have the impressive Lawrence Neil-Smith back home opening the Blues attack. Nathan Ellis would be a useful addition too.

Harsh. Specially the WTC points. What are the umpires doing. They have an obligation to keep the game humming along. And surely if they think the skipper is dawdling deliberately it is their job to clamp down on them. Why not fine the umpires too as they dont appear to be fully doing their job.

The skipper isn't 5 years old! This is red ball cricket! Keep up or get your pocket money taken!

...or Warner.. with a piddling @24 on Indian tracks. Not much better in Sri Lanka. Khawaja has never played in India, averages @17 in Sri Lanka. I just know Harris' record would be similar. We have to look at blokes that can actually play spin if we are to have any hope over there.

Yep he is a skidder so gets to the batsman quicker than he has judged which gives Richo a lot of his wickets. Plus he swings the ball both ways at a decent pace, has a terrific bouncer and can seam em too. He is the complete bowling package.

I think he’s a really special bowler, and importantly he offers variation to Cummins & Hazlewood. It’s just a matter of time until he takes Starc’s spot.

An hour ago it looked like the England Lions would bat out a draw.. but the A spinners were having none of it. Hunt takes a reflex catch off a Swepson leggie and our second stringers pull off a thrilling win. Pity this is not a three match series like in the past.

Sydney doesn’t spin like it used to, but if we’ve won the series by then it could be a chance to debut Swepson. Especially if Green is bowling well.

I'd argue it's stronger with Head chiming in at the Gabba there

Warner, Smith and Labuschagne.. you can almost bank on one of them going large, then you get Travis Head coming down the order improving all the time it seems. If we get a decent opener to pair Warner, we're suddenly not that far off where we'd probably like to be in terms of batting.
