As a neutral Kiwi it comes down to common sense for me. The catch was cleanly taken, Starc then used the ball for some balance. Would we prefer he face plants or tears a shoulder while holding the ball above his head in that instance?

The control of body law I'd clearly interpret as when the boundary rope comes into play. If he was using the ball to break his slide over the boundary rope then I'd agree it's not out.

Situations such as yesterday make me thankful to see Jofra Archer not playing in this Ashes series.

Compared to plodders such as Robinson, Jofra's extra pace and bounce (combined with the slope from the Pavilion End at Lord's) would've caused the Aussies a lot of problems.

The "control of your body" in that rule is meant for situations where for example you take a tumbling catch but use the ground to help stay in control of the ball... not for sliding on your knees after the world's most obvious catch
