Fun day at the cricket. Good effort from Abbott and the lower order to get a decent total on the board. Bowlers did a good job too. I dropped about 150 sheets on beers and I’m barely drunk. Not sure whether it’s my tolerance or the absurd prices. Probably abit of both.

Maybe a nitpick, but why pick a player like Matt Short who is a specialist opener, then bat him at 6, so you can open with Inglis who is a middle order batsman?

Do the selectors just pick 11 players then draw names out of a hat to sort out a batting lineup?

no doubt they all discuss these issues but normally the selectors used to pick the team and the skipper used to pick the batting order, thats how it was when Smudger was skipper
