Need to simply score more runs. 137 tonight was simply not enough. Or if we field first need to keep Sri Lanka down to less than 150

What doesnt make sense was the scheduling

Why did they play the 4th ODI in Sydney

Send them down to Hobart to play the 5th ODI

THEN->

Go back to Sydney to play a mickey mouse T20, what was the bloody point of playing the game in Hobart for?

And then go to Melbourne to play a mickey mouse t20

The only thing that made sense out of all that is The T20 on Jan 26, we're all too drunk to pay attention/ care

The only thing that mattered to me on so-called Australia day was getting totally smashed, listening to the hottest 100 and using the remainder of my attention span on a frivolous game of cricket :D

They are plaing the first two ODI Vs WI in Perth

That doesnt make any sense either, exactly what spiritual connection/ significance is there for the west indies to play in Perth anyway?

The Perthites were more than happy/ ignorant to have the big bash final. they dont need anything else over there

What do you mean connection/significance? What does that have to do with anything.

International fixtures have always been played around the country. Why shouldn't Perth get ODIs when everyone else does.

They didn't have any ODI vs SL nor T20i

I think any state would have loved to have hosted the BB final if the local side made it. Big bucks

Who cares about average in 20/20? It's about S/R.

I do think Hughes should be in the side. IMO sides should forget about all rounders in this format, unless they are genuine like Angelo Matthews or Keiron Pollard. Pick 5 specialists bowlers 5 batsmen and a keeper. If one or two of the batsmen can bowl a bit then well and good but bits and pieces players in this format get found out.

Cutting? You serious, awful T20 bowler for starters. I hate picking old farts but surely Dirk Nannes with Starc are your 2 quicks. Hughes is pushing it as well, especially at number 3...I would rather Burns at 3, and add another allrounder there. You may not like Tim Paine but he is CLEARLY our best T20 keeper and by a mile too, Hanscomb from Victoria probably the next best.

and if one or two of your specialist bowlers get tonked in their first couple of overs, your well and truly screwed

I think 1 or 2 allrounders is a must in this format aka DHussey type players

Hussey is a batsmen who can bowl a bit. If one of your 5 goes for a few you bring him on for a couple.

Look at SL with Malinga and Mendis. They are limited overs specialists and bowl accordingly and rarely ever get belted.
You pick 5 specialist bowlers who know how to bowl in specific overs.
You don't really need more than 6 batsmen (keeper included) in a 20 over innings. If you do you're probably going to lose.

Yeah but how about looking at the rest of the SL side? Goes against you whole argument, lol

Mathews and Perera are classified as all rounders, essentially they never play with 5 specialist bowlers and 6 specialist bats (inc keeper) which is what you propose

and they are no1

Id like to think Watson when he comes into the aussie side in t20 , he will bat in the top order and bowl his overs. Having one or two fellas who can do both disciplines in this format is crucial for consistant long term success for mine, gives the side lot lot more flexibility as well.

I said in the future. The format is still developing. IMO having more than 6 batsmen is a waste. 20/20 is a game designed with batsmen in mind. What's the best way to stop batsmen? Pick a team heavy with specialist bowlers.
