These sub-250 run ODI matches are a breath of fresh air in comparison to the glut of successful 300+ run chases that have occurred in the ODI format when the rules and conditions were tweaked (starting from around the mid-2000s) to make the format more batter-friendly.

Much more interesting contest when the bowlers have something to work with.

Much more interesting contest when the bowlers have something to work with.

It's what the t20 format lacks. You don't get to see a batsman build an innings or watch a bowler work someone over. It's just high octane mania in pursuit of the coveted boost point.

TLT (Tricky Low Totals) in the ODI format often make for a fantastic contest. Plenty of good ones at the SCG over the years.
