I think CA wanted to keep the bones of this side together until the ashes next year before rebuilding. The fact that Khawaja and Smith are both looking past it is a concern. Marnus also has form issues but is younger and would’ve been part of the plans for a few more years.

We’ve gone all in on an aging side, and it looks like we may do our dough. If Uzzy or Smith can find some form this series it will alleviate a lot of pressure on the side.
