Take note CA.

Look at this Kiwi crowd.

Grow this relationship and schedule it right and three summers from four (India, England and NZ) can be blockbusters.

Will it though? NZ would have to improve vastly, to be bluntly honest, for that to happen.

Fair play to the crowd, but it was their first Boxing Day test in a zillion years. If it's more regular and that kind of novelty wears off, will as many travel to watch them get belted?

That's not to say that they shouldn't get more, I firmly believe Test series should be more diverse than they are and NZ/Pakistan/Sri Lanka/Windies and even Afghanistan down the track should also get Boxing Day tests. But it's a relevant consideration I guess.

The Poms fans come here for tours.

And sure NZ need to improve but it's something worth pursuing imho.

True.

But I think the Australia NZ test rivalry can be cultivated esp playing East Coast venues and encouraging tourism etc. Esp Xmas NY tests.

I agree to an extent. I just feel like going off one Test and hoping the crowds will be that great by default is a little bit simplistic.

NZ should play more here. But they need to improve as an opponent if they want to create that kind of atmosphere regularly, and rival the England and India tours as you suggested.

I'm not the one who brought it up, just added a bit of fuel to the post...so you tell me ;)

you may need to ask someone else. I was just watching the Test, next thing we’ve all arrived talking ourselves up (which Kiwis don’t do) as the #2 team in the world, IAN SMITH, the crowd are bastards etc etc

to be honest, as I have said all along, we have just been outplayed comprehensively by a much better team

Encouraging kiwi tourism? Mate most of New Zealand lives here

Like all those Indian fans that go to Tests and ODIs.

And like all those Poms that go to Tests and ODIs.

I kinda like have stadiums full of fans cheering, chanting, etc and spending money in the economy and money going back to CA for the betterment of cricket.

So this test match proved one thing conclusively - we all have more idea than the NZ selectors.

We’re much better than these two performances

Gavin Larsen is the cricket equivalent of Steve Kearney

Congrats Australia you were incredibly good

I think theyve got it wrong.... Australia should be ranked number 2 and New Zealand number 5.... the aussies look unbeatable of late. NZ have been pretty bad lately.

Maybe more tests wouldn’t hurt l?
No probs with that.

The reality is that Australia is going to be playing India a lot more because they are competitive and financially boost the coffers.

Pakistan, West Indies, Sri Lanka are going to be rare visitors here, just like Bangladesh because they struggle big time in these conditions.

South Africa have their own summer at this time so they'll be hard to get more often
