Another poor day in the office, being taken to the sword now.
Only rain can save us.

This was probably inevitable after competing for 3.5 tests. One got the feeling that either we were overachieving or England were under performing, it was just a matter of time before they found their mojo again.

Latham would have been a better option than Guptill. At least he's new. Guptill has proven over, and over, and over, and over, and over again that he's not up to it.

Yup agreed. He's all at sea at test level and his record really does say it all. I'd hate to see his test record had he not bullied Zimbabwe and Bangladesh around.

Rain may save the Kiwis, rain expected all day.

Overcautiousness by the Poms could cost them here.

Dougy Bracewell's batting average is decidedly mediocre (10.75) for a man who was once dubbed an 'Allrounder' in the NZ Cricket scene

I think if Bracewell batted more like a tailender instead of a "lower middle order" bat, he would do himself, and the NZ cricket team a better service
EDIT and its raining

Bracewell is an average player who benefited from that Hobart green top and the Australia side on the verge of turning to crap. He hasn't done anything with bat or ball since and seems to carry himself like a smug little upstart.

Not a fan, I'd stick with Wagner as the third seamer and Southee as our #8 'allrounder'.

He bowls too short IMO.

Wagner is a better bowler. I'm also impressed with Southee's development in the last 12-18 months.
