Great shot Wade. Holding your bat 6 feet off your body is the normal way to play a big turning spinner.

If Australia plays "horses for courses" Jason Krejza, the specialist dustbowl bowler, would have been sent to India

But no, Australia doesnt need to play spin, fk that, you only need to play spin in India. "Cricket is 4 slips and 2 gullies"

Cowan did exactly what was required of him, and not for the first time over the past 3-4 months, but I don't expect him to get any credit. Hughes and Watson need to go.

Score runs? He doesn't do that much. I suppose 45 or so is good going by his standard.

Time for a declaration Clarkey.

In my time watching cricket, this Australian team is similar to Mark Taylor's teams in the 90s

Invincible at home

Kittens away, especially playing on the subcontinent

The upside is, Australia's never lost a test match to Sri Lanka yet

We did lose one. I think it was the one where Dizzy and Tugga collided.

Woeful game from a woeful side

Not an ounce of fight in this side of pansies and it was only a matter of time until Clarke couldn't carry them with the bat

Nothing positive for Aust there imo... clutching at straws if anyone suggests there is...

Pretty comprehensive performance that, outplayed in every regard

You're exactly right. Opening the batting is one of the most thankless tasks in test cricket and from what I've seen, Cowan does his job as an opening batsman 99% of the time which is see off the new ball and bat through the first session, making the middle order's job a lot easier.

There are some positives from this test.

1) Watson, Maxwell and Doherty have been outed as the imposters they are. The public and media can see it, lets hope the selectors can too.
2) Pattinson is the leader of this team's attack. He along with Clarke are the only two Australian players who get a pass mark from this debacle.
