Axar batted very well

He did but I thought we went very defensive very quickly.

Anyway, hopefully we can get someone putting a 115 run stand together. 200- 250 would be a brutal chase on this you'd reckon.

Will need a similar score to the 1st innings.

Reckon India could still chase 230-240 on this wicket.

Where I reckon we would struggle to get to 150 batting last here.

That's the difference between the 2 teams

So Head should go full tonk. Take it to them from ball one. Quick fire 40 please much better than what Warner can provide these days.

Strange decision. Not sure Head has ever opened in red ball cricket.

It's probably his best chance to score runs but he's also totally unfamiliar with the role. Bit of a 50/50 call

Whats a winning lead here?

Assuming deck is going to continue to deteriorate, we want india to be batting day 4 to chase bulk of the runs

So we need to bat well over 2 sessions tomorrow, get over 200 should be enough ??

I think it's a good call opening with Head. He goes better against the quicker bowlers than starting against the turning old ball. In saying that, so does Renshaw. Probably going to be one of those calls that will be judged in hindsight. I think it's worth the gamble. If he can score a quick 40 or so it can really kick start the innings whereas Renshaw takes a little longer to get going.

I think 230 is a par chase. 270+ would be a huge effort to chase down. Anything less than 200 I think won't be enough barring something extraordinary.
