On the keeping thing, it's why there was such a panic on our last tour of England when Haddin hurt himself after the toss but before play started on day 1. Even though Manou was in the squad, he wouldn't have been allowed to keep. We had to get permission from Strauss and the match referee to make the change, and the game hadn't even started.

As for the Kiwis, what happened to Nethula? I thought he was the next cab off the rank spin wise? Really, for the last 5 years Vettori should have been playing as a batsman who bowls a bit, not as a bowling all-rounder.
