Very, looks a decent batting wicket. It's spun a bit but they have scored slowly and played a few loose shots.Pakistan batting has been a bit sub-par today
good question, I was reading the other day about the introduction of neutral umpires, the history of cricket umpires is actually really interesting just because yesteryear was so funny.just noticed, 2 aussie umpires for this test match
Does that happen often? ie. both umpires from the same country, cant recall it happening before
any figures on this stats Hala?
When determining which umpires will stand in each match/series, the ICC applies the following criteria and considerations:
Independent of the countries involved in the match/series
The best available umpires for the match/series
Better performing umpires used more often
Frequency of individuals appointed to same teams
Workload considerations
The ICC announces the provisional appointment of officials for upcoming series and matches as early as possible, although sometimes these appointments can change prior to the match or series.
How was that upheld???? Didn't look out live and still wasn't out in slow mo.
this umpire thing isn't overly common but happens more than I thought it would (I figured I would have noticed if it happened more). There is no reason why it doesn't happen more often than it does. These are the umpire appointment guidelines
When I can be bothered I will compile stats for it. This is the forth time this season that both on field umpires came from the same country, 2 of the previous time this season were two Aussies, the first was the second test of the WIndies tour of India. It was Oxenford and Tucker in that match, second of that series. The other one was the first SAfrica Sri Lanka test (Davis and Tucker).
I don't know how I overlooked the New Zealand visit to Australia earlier, but the first test of that had 2 Paki umpires - Rauf and Dar
