This probably makes more sense if they expect the pitch to be turning square from ball one. No need for 3 spinners if you're only expecting innings to last 50 overs.

I like the look of Connelly but seriously its an insult to the Baggy Green Cap to be handing him one right now.

Blokes like David Hussey and that who averaged close to 50 and never got one must shake there head.

Connelly has played 4 FC games yet to take a wicket or score a 100.

He's the classic case of let's bring this very good white ball cricket through the T20I and ODI sides first. Like I'm ok with blooding new players because I think it's what we need to be doing, but not just blooding then cos they're there. Konstas and McSweeney and Webster are likely to play serious Test cricket a lot sooner than Connolly
