Lively start. Double A who used to do a top ten list on sports topics was on and yelling down Tunks. Tunks really had nothing to say in response. The anger in Double A's voice - his man crush on Pierce has been rekindled now that he's in Origin contention again. He was told to calm down in the end a few times but he kept going...

The next caller straight after that was Adrian who agreed with Double A saying Pierce should be halfback and he swiftly went into his usual anti-Des diatribe. Hughes and Robbo sounded worn down as they faded Adrian out while he was still ranting.

That's about as entertaining as the show will get for a while. They all got a bit of a hammering and was quite good to listen to for a change.

Good ole Triple A. The man who once proclaimed on the show that Pearce will one day captain Australia.
His love of Pearce didnt cloud his judgement, it was more cyclonic.

As for Adrian....where do you start or end. He said on Twitter he was no longer a Dogs fan after they extended Tolman's contract, yet tweets the Dogs account daily asking questions he wont get answers to.

Or, he will badger any media type on Twitter asking them why they dont hammer Des. He is a lost sheep.

I've been listening to this bloke on and off for over a decade. I know he was banned from getting onto Sports Today on 2UE for being a pest.

I used to think the bloke was a parody of the really weird sports fans you find in the US that you can view on YouTube and he was intelligently just spinning them off.

Took a while to realise this bloke is dead serious in everything he says and does. If I ever got like that I'd like someone to tap me on the shoulder and ask me what the f*ck is going on in my life, and if I needed a long chat or a bit of help...

I bumped into him at Pitt Town Sports Club a few years back. Was watching the football by himself wearing shoes with no socks, Calling out "what about this bulldogs pack?" to no one and generally giving off an unhinged vibe.

He rang in today and praised Mitchell Pearce, said he should be picked for SOO. I couldnt believe it. What a shame Michael Clarke no longer plays.

Someone should facebook message them suggesting that they do an Outside Broadcast again.

I remember they always had problems with them; Cutting out, silence and then cutting to music for minutes at a time, they couldn't hear the callers, couldn't go on delay - disaster after disaster.

The last two OB's I remember that they were forced to cut them short and they had to race back from where they were (one was from a golf club that sponsored them at the time) to their Pyrmont studio so for about an hour you just heard music being played. Memories. Quality memories.

One of my favourite Adrian calls was a few years back when Australia were playing WI in a one day series. He said that if he was WI captain he would instruct his bowlers not to get Clarke out as if he did another guy would come in and score quicker LOL

Listened on the way home and couldn't help but laugh at how Hughes was carrying on about 'the lawyers are meeting as we speak'. I am now treating this show as light entertainment in the vein of Hey Hey It's Saturday.

I remember during the first season of Channel 9's Cricket Show at the lunch break of test matches (1995/96) that they had 4 masterclasses: leg-spin, off-spin, fast bowling/swing and batting. Michael Slater did the batting masterclass, Simon O'Donnell the fast bowling/swing and Shane Warne the leg-spin. They were replayed regularly over the next couple of summers.

Last night, I suddenly remembered that Gavin Robertson did the off-spin masterclass and was desperately trying to find footage of it on the internet, and lo and behold, stumbled upon the Cloverdale cricket club reproducing and updating some of those masterclasses (in 2003). Even though I was in primary school at the time and it was my first summer of following cricket (largely due to the 1995 triumph in the West Indies), I do remember thinking to myself that the guy bowling off-spin had a very high-pitched voice for a man:

Although I admit the arm-ball he bowled was an absolute beauty, it probably took him a few hours to produce that one particular ball, let alone the off-break and top-spinner.

Adrian must be a former MKULTRA subject.
LOL! Must've been a prime candidate for the movie Conspiracy Theory.

ROFL! You don't know how loud I laughed as I read that.

I've heard it all now

"This has been a Gavin Robertson production.......where it is ok to fail"

Dunno if its' still there, but I remember when he posted a photo of him with Mel McLaughlin at Luna Park. The old guy just looked like he couldn't want to get his hands all over her like a chameleon.

Haha! Why were they racing back from the golf club to the Pyrmont studio?
